Description
Note by Workaway team: please, contact this host in Spanish
I am Mimi, a cacao medicine and fire woman from San Juan de la Laguna in Guatemala. I have a little guesthouse with a small cafe in San Juan de la Laguna. I work with cacao ceremonies and fire ceremonies in the Maya tradition. It is my dream to expand my work with the cacao and share with beautiful people and to give retreats around Central America. For this dream, I already received help from travellers to build a website so that people can find me and my offerings, and now I would like to support with designing a beautiful logo. I know a lot about the Mayan traditions and the cacao. And I would like to exchange our wisdoms and skills in this way.Types of help and learning opportunities
Help with Computers/ InternetCultural exchange and learning opportunities
I would like to exchange my wisdom of cacao and the fire (Mayan fire ceremonies to pray) and the Mayan traditions, the Mayan calendar and cultural introduction to the village and the lake. You will be family!
Help
I am looking for you, who has graphic design and/or social media skills to help me design a logo for my website for my cacao project (ceremonies, retreats & my cafe) and to help me how to publish my offerings (social media or locally). You will need to bring your own computer and I will provide the wifi. I am really not a computer person (I don't even have one). I would expect about 3 hours of help per day to help me with computer work, but it can be negotiable if you prefer to work more time in a few days and then take more time off to explore the beautiful area around the lake.

single room with big bed and shared bathroom (hot water) and shared kitchen. You will also have access to the whole garden and a spacious yoga deck with a view of the lake.
It is difficult for me to offer regular meals at this moment, if i cook something, i will share with you for sure - but in general you are responsible for your own food. There are lots of affordable supermarkets and restaurants around. So i would just expect 15hours of help per weekWhat else ...
There is beautiful nature around the lake. You can go swimming, kayaking, hiking,... and visit the any local village around the lake. There are also many activities around the lake. San Marcos with all its attractions and cafes and restaurants is a 10 minute boat ride away but the town of San Juan also has many cafes and restaurants and is more local than San Marcos. In San Marcos you can fin all kinds of kirtan, ecstatic dance, parties, fire circles etc... The city of Antigua is 3 hours away and from there you can hike to the volcano.
