Description
Our Shire is on a beautiful spot on Southern Vancouver Island. This 2.5 acre property was once part of a 160 acre farm started in 1896. Due to this fact, it is a large, sunny spot surrounded by forests, and a ten minute walk to the beach or a beautiful creek. Hiking trails are all around as well as many beaches to explore.
There are 2 tiny houses and a newly built rammed earth house on the property as well as some old fruit trees, 120+ year old Black Walnut tree, and a Linden tree that blooms at the end of June.
Also on the property, a healing hut used for energy treatments and an 1956 Mercury bus (the original Canadian school buses) my friend uses as her art studio- she teaches classes under the amazing big trees.
Three of us live on the property full time plus Marley the silver lab. A well provides us with great, pure drinking water.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Looking for people to help get our vegetable garden back in shape. This project includes making more raised garden beds, building shelves in the green house as well as getting some black berry bushes under control. Leaves to rake, underbrush to clear up and general clean up work. A tiny house is provided for you and meals can be shared in the main house or if preferred, a more self sufficient set up is possible. What else ...
We are in a rural area and the nearest bus stop is approximately 6 km away. Sooke is the closest town, 12 km away. There is bus service from Victoria to Sooke and pick up in Sooke is possible. If you like hiking there are many trails around here. Old logging roads start 50 m from the property and are endless. The beach is a 10 minute walk away and at low tide you can walk for 2 km along the beach enjoying wildlife and the fossil cliffs. Orcas have been seen from here and seal are often lounging on the rocks.
