  Description

  We are Ash and Monika, a Moroccan and a German. An exciting mix :-). There is always something to do here. We rented a small house with a beautiful roof terrace overlooking the sandy beach. We are currently expanding this terrace and would like to run a small café, which we still have to expand ourselves. A garden is also planned - a bit of a challenge here in this dry country. I would particularly like to see local fruit trees and herbs.
  We have a horse and two dogs. If you speak French, you hardly need our help to move around in society. English is an advantage for everyday life. Ash speaks English and Arabic/Darija. I speak English and French and a bit of Darija - I still have to learn :-). I myself would like someone who speaks German. Therefore this text is not written in English. And... it never gets boring with us.
  There is news! We rented a small old restaurant on the 2nd beach, which we have already decorated beautifully. The inauguration ceremony was on January 14th, 2024, but there is still a lot to do before it is actually up and running. The kitchen isn't working properly yet, we still have one or two logistical problems and there's only a trickle coming out of the tap at the moment. So we can still use more help! Still with our horse, the dogs, building a proper water supply or in the common household and cooking. It's all pretty simple and you always have to improvise here. If that doesn't bother you, you're welcome!
  
  
  Wir, das sind Ash und Monika, Ein Marokkaner und eine Deutsche. Eine spannende Mischung :-). Es gibt hier immer etwas zu tun. Wir haben ein kleines Häuschen gemietet mit einer wunderschönen Dachterrasse mit Aussicht auf den Sandstrand. Wir bauen diese Terrasse gerade aus und möchten ein kleines Café betreiben, das wir noch selbst ausbauen müssen. Ein Garten ist ebenfalls geplant - eine kleine Herausforderung hier in diesem trockenen Land. Ich wünsche mir hierzu vor allem einheimische Obst-/Fruchtbäume und Kräuter.
  Wir haben ein Pferd und zwei Hunde. Wenn du französisch sprichst, bist du kaum auf unsere Hilfe angewiesen, um dich in der Gesellschaft zu bewegen. Englisch ist für den Alltag von Vorteil. Ash spricht Englisch und Arabisch/Darija. Ich spreche Englisch und Französisch und ein paar Brocken Darija - ich muss noch lernen :-). Ich selbst wünsche mir jemanden, der Deutsch spricht. Deshalb ist dieser Text nicht in Englisch verfasst. Und... es wird nie langweilig bei uns.
  Es gibt Neuigkeiten! Wir haben ein kleines altes Restaurant am 2. Strand angemietet, das wir bereits wunderschön hergerichtet haben. Am 14.01.24 war die Einweihungsfeier, aber es gibt immer noch viel zu tun, bis es wirklich läuft. Die Küche funktioniert noch nicht richtig, wir haben noch das ein oder andere logistische Problem und es gibt im Moment nur ein Rinnsal aus dem Wasserhahn. Wir können also noch mehr Hilfe brauchen! Immer noch mit unserem Pferd, den Hunden beim Bau einer ordentlichen Wasserversorgung oder im gemeinsamen Haushalt und beim Kochen. Es ist alles ziemlich einfach und es muss hier immer improvisiert werden. Wen das nicht stört, ist herzlich willkommen!

  With us you will get to know the culture of Morocco. We live 500 meters from the beach, so you can also get to know the surfing paradise of Sidi Kaouki. Our horse Bob is at your disposal if you have good riding experience. He is a thoroughbred stallion and every now and then the "horses" get away from him :-)
  
  Du lernst bei uns die Kultur Marokkos kennen. Wir leben 500 Meter vom Strand entfernt, so dass du auch das Surf-Paradies Sidi Kaouki kennenlernen kannst. Unser Pferd Bob steht dir zur Verfügung, wenn du gute Reiterfahrung hast. Er ist ein Vollbluthengst und ab und zu gehen ihm die "Pferde" durch :-)

  Help

  If you would like to help us with our horse, you should have riding experience and know something about horse care. You should also be familiar with dealing with dogs. You should also be able to make yourself useful around the house. We are new in the service of our small restaurant. For example, I also bake my own bread. If you are familiar with planting in dry regions, we would be happy to hear your knowledge. Permaculture and Terra Preta are dreams of mine. But I don't know if I can get it implemented here. The operation of our small restaurant is also new. A mixture of regional cuisine and “healthy” cuisine is my goal. There would also be a lot to do with the local water supply, which is inadequate. If you have any knowledge of technology, you are also very welcome. You should be open and tolerant. Many rules and values are slightly different here than in Europe. If there is trash lying around or animals are not treated well by our standards, you should be okay with it. Of course you can help at any time, but you have to accept the cultural customs and poverty.
  
  Wenn du uns mit unserem Pferd helfen möchtest, solltest Reiterfahrung haben und etwas über Pferdepflege wissen, Auch der Umgang mit Hunden sollte dir vertraut sein. Ausserdem solltest du dich im Haushalt nützlich machen können. Und neu auch im Service unseres kleinen Restaurants. Ich backe zum Beispiel auch mein eigenes Brot. Wenn du dich mit Bepflanzung in trockenen Regionen auskennst, freuen wir uns über dein Wissen. Permakultur und Terra Preta sind Träume von mir. Ich weiss aber nicht, ob ich diese hier umgesetzt bekomme. Neu ist auch der Betrieb underes kleinen Restaurants. Eine Mischung aus regionaler Küche und "gesunder" Küche, sind mein Ziel. Es gäbe auch mit der lokalen uns ungenügenden Wasserversorgung viel zu tun. Wenn du Ahnung Technik hast, bist du auch sehr willkommen. Du solltest offen und tolerant sein. Viele Regeln und Wertevorstellungen sind hier etwas anders als in Europa. Wenn Müll herumliegt oder Tiere nach unseren Massstäben nicht gut behandelt werden, solltest du damit klar kommen. Helfen kann man natürlich jederzeit, man muss aber die kulturellen Gepflogenheiten und die Armut akzeptieren.

  We have a guest room with two separate beds. So a couple is also welcome. Bathroom and kitchen are for shared use. We don't have running water at the moment, but we're working on it. i.e. Hauling water (20 meters) is one of the tasks
  
  Wir haben ein Gästezimmer mit zwei getrennten Betten. Ein Paar ist also auch Willkommen. Bad und Küche sind zur Mitbenutzung. Im Moment haben wir kein fliessendes Wasser, arbeiten aber daran. D. h. Wasserschleppen (20 Meter) gehört mit zu den Aufgaben

  What else ...

  You can enjoy horse riding, surfing, kite surfing and quad biking here in your free time. 20 km from Sidi Kaouki is Essaouira, a beautiful old port city with a historic fortification. Marrakech is 3 hours away. There are buses, but very irregularly. The locals often hitchhike. However, taxis are also very cheap.
  
  Du kannst hier in deiner Freizeit Reiten, Surfen, Kite-Surfing, Quad-Fahren. 20 km von Sidi Kaouki entfernt liegt Essaouira, eine wunderschöne alte Hafenstadt mit einer historischen Wehranlage. Marrakesch ist 3 Stunden entfernt. Es fahren Busse, aber sehr unregelmässig. Die Einheimischen Trampen oft. Allerdings sind auch Taxis sehr günstig.
