Description
I'M ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS AGAIN IN AUGUST JUST FOR A WEEK
ONLY WOMEN ACCEPTED (see accommodation)
My name is Mariel (33 years old), and together with my husband Mariano (38 years old), we live in Villa de Merlo, in the province of San Luis, Argentina. Our town is approximately 6 hours from Mendoza and 6 hours from Córdoba, right in the heart of Argentina. For 7 years, we traveled through around 49 countries as digital nomads and travelers, visiting South America, Europe, and Asia.
We came to Merlo about a year ago, finally settling in one place in our own country. We also spent a lot of time traveling while doing volunteer work, staying through Couchsurfing (I’m an ambassador for the community), and receiving a lot of hospitality along the way.
I’m an English translator and producer of a podcast about Argentine culture and traditions, and Mariano runs a web agency offering services for website creation. As you can see, we love staying connected with the traveling community, learning about other cultures and traditions, and learning from you.Types of help and learning opportunities

We can speak in Spanish, teach you about Argentine culture and traditions, go to places and cultural events in Merlo, tell you what places to visit in the country.
Merlo is a very beautiful town, known for having one of the best microclimates in the world and being nestled between mountains (which is why it's a valley). It’s a rather peaceful town, surrounded by nature, with many trekking options. It's very safe and calm, and there are some lovely streams nearby (the closest one is about a 20-minute walk away).
In addition, there are many cultural activities where you can learn a lot about Argentine culture, and there are a few bars where you can enjoy a craft beer. Merlo also offers many holistic options: yoga, meditation, reiki, acupuncture. There are theater classes and plenty of activities related to sports and the arts.
There’s a strong focus here on ecological and natural living. We have many traveler friends in the area, and I often organize meetups. It's better if you can already speak some Spanish.Help
Mariano is traveling alone for a couple of months and I (Mariel) am staying alone in the house. Some company would be nice, and we would share some simple tasks like going to the sumermarket, cooking, watering the house and cleaning the house. I'm mainly interested in having some company, and during the day I'm working, so would be better if you don't stay all day long in the house and go around to discover the town. I'm also interested in practising English and take you to an English club we have in town on Thursdays.
ONLY ACCEPTING WOMEN
I prefer only women stay here as I'm also a woman alone, and for now I prefer not more than a week. It's not a real workaway experience as you're not really working, you'll be mostly visiting around, no more than that time wouldn't make much sense. Thank you!Languages

I'm a Spanish teacher and I'm always interested in improving the languages I speak. I'm not willing to give proper lessons but we can have Spanish conversation, teach you Argentine expressions and correct some of your mistakes while speakingAccommodation
We can offer you a stay in Mariano’s studio, which has a bed with a new mattress and a comfortable space for you to store your things. The only requirement is that you leave the room by 8 a.m. since that’s when he starts work. During the day, when you're not working, you visit around the area, that is very beautiful.
You’ll also have access to sheets, a towel, a washing machine, and Wi-Fi (although we’d prefer if you avoid video calls or other high-data activities while we’re working).
For now, we’re only hosting one female volunteer at a time. Before confirming, we do require a video call so we can get to know each other.
As I'm not making you work, just helping around, I'm not covering food, just accommodation. What else ...
We live a bit away from the town center, about a 30-minute walk. You can find shops like a supermarket, grocery store, and bakery about 15 minutes away on foot. There are also buses to get to other parts of town, or you can hitchhike (which works well here), walk, or take a taxi.
We’re also close to many beautiful small towns, and we’re practically right next to the province of Córdoba.A little more information

You can park it outside if it's too big. If it's not that big, there's a possibility you can enter it at night. Anyway, it's very safe here.
How many Workawayers can stay?
