Description
Our house is in a friendly neighborhood of Portland, on two bus lines, in walking distance of several stores, restaurants, bars, library, etc. We need help with feeding the cats and watering the garden when we're away during the summer. My mom (age 70) lives in a detached apartment on the property and enjoys meeting people from around the world.

I used to work as a coordinator for high school and university study abroad programs, and I love to organize tours and sightseeing experiences for visitors. Oregon has beautiful waterfalls, beaches, wineries, and all the art and music of the Portland cultural scene. It's a great place to explore in the summer.
Help
We only need about 30 minutes of time per day-- just feed the cats in morning and evening, bring in the mail, and water some plants.

I'd like to practice my Spanish and Portuguese, and I've just started German (only a few weeks ago).
Accommodation
We have two double beds and two single beds available. Most meals are on your own-- you'll have free use of the kitchen and space in the fridge and cupboards to keep your food. There are two grocery stores (one with mostly organic food), a farmer's market, and several restaurants within a ten minute walk.
What else ...
I recommend going to visit Silver Falls State Park, Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Latourell Falls in the Columbia Gorge, and the International Rose Test Garden. Oregon is a beautiful state.
