    Description

    Would you like to experience life in a small off-grid ecovillage in the mountains of southern Spain?

    I'm Marie Louise and I live at Casa Bliss, a sustainable hemp-clay home, together with my dog.
    About 100 meters away is Casita Boxie, my comfortable off-grid tiny home with air conditioning, where you will stay.

    I'm looking for a practical volunteer who enjoys DIY projects, sustainable living and learning new skills while sharing everyday life in nature.

    Your project
    During your stay you will help with several practical sustainability projects around Casita Boxie.
    These include:
    - helping improve the off-grid water system;
    - removing old water pipes and preparing new ones;
    - measuring, fitting and testing the new water system together;
    - building a small protective hemp-clay shelter for a new outdoor water heater;
    - helping with general maintenance and small outdoor projects if time allows.

    Please note that much of the help takes place underneath the tiny home, so you should be comfortable doing tasks while lying on the ground and in relatively tight spaces. You don't mind getting a little dusty!
    If you're curious about off-grid water systems, natural building and sustainable living, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn while helping.

    Who I'm looking for
    You:
    * enjoy practical DIY projects;
    * are comfortable using basic hand tools;
    * like solving practical problems;
    * enjoy learning new skills;
    * do tasks independently after receiving instructions;
    * don't mind physical tasks and getting dusty.
    *An interest in natural building (hemp-clay, cob, lime, etc.) is a bonus, but no previous experience is necessary.

    What I offer
    🌿 Free accommodation in Casita Boxie, a comfortable off-grid tiny home with air conditioning, surrounded by beautiful nature.
    Please note that during part of the project Casita Boxie will temporarily have no running water while we improve the water system.
    🚿 You can use the shower at my nearby hemp-clay home, Casa Bliss.
    💧 Fresh drinking water is always available.
    🍽 One delicious home-cooked main meal every day, plus breakfast supplies (coffee, tea, bread, fruit, yoghurt, etc.).
    🐕 Plenty of time to enjoy my friendly dog, mountain sunsets, star-filled nights and the peaceful rhythm of off-grid life.

    Life at Casa Bliss & Casita Boxie
    Life here is simple, peaceful and close to nature.
    We live off-grid and quite isolated in the mountains.
    With your own car, the Mediterranean Sea is only about 15 minutes away. I personally rarely go to the beach and usually drive to the village for shopping only twice a week, so having your own transport gives you much more freedom if you'd like to explore the area.
    This experience is ideal for someone who enjoys nature, quiet surroundings and a slower pace of life rather than busy tourist areas.
    It’s beautiful here, but it is remote — and that is part of the charm. 🌿

    The journey to our village is an adventure in itself, as you traverse the Rambla, a scenic dirt path. Please note that vehicles need to be higher off the ground than usual due to the uneven path and rocks, ensuring a safe and smooth arrival for cars, campers and caravans.

    Length of stay
    Minimum stay: 2 weeks
    Maximum stay: 2 weeks

    If you enjoy practical projects, sustainable living and sharing life in nature, I'd love to hear from you!
    I look forward to meeting you!
    Marie Louise 🌿

    More info about our ecovillage, a vibrant and pioneering community nestled in the picturesque mountains of Andalucia, Spain!

    I founded our EcoVillage in 2021. It is a pioneering hub of sustainable living, where adults and children are crafting a harmonious lifestyle on our expansive 40-hectare rural land.
    Our home is surrounded by the natural beauty of almond and carob trees, just a 15-minute drive from the stunning Costa Tropical and an hour from the historic city of Granada.

    The journey to our village is an adventure in itself, as you traverse the Rambla, a scenic dirt path. Please note that vehicles need to be higher off the ground than usual due to the uneven path and rocks, ensuring a safe and smooth arrival for campers and caravans. At times, a yurt or mobile home for 4 people is available.

    We invite volunteers who are eager to lend a hand, whether you bring fresh ideas, physical energy, or a desire to learn about building and living sustainably off-grid. Join us in creating a sanctuary of harmony and growth, where every contribution helps us thrive together.
    Marie Louise, our initiator and dedicated contact person, is eager to welcome you and guide you through this enriching experience. Come, temporarily be a part of our growing family, and help us create a future full of harmony and sustainability!

    Un abrazo,
    Ecovillage community

    Attention campervan and caravan travelers! Our EcoVillage welcomes you with access to water and compost bins, though please note we do not have a designated pit for campervan waste. While the journey to our community via the Rambla is wide enough for vehicles, it is advisable to ensure your campervan is not too low to the ground due to the rocky terrain. Rest assured, we navigate this route daily with our regular cars, and lorries do as well. We look forward to your visit and the unique experiences you'll bring to our community! 🚐🌿
