Description
Hello!
My name is Claudia and I am 30 years old. I live in a town called New Norfolk about half an hour drive north of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
I usually work in the film industry but have taken some time off to spend more time at home and to enjoy not working (cant last forever...!).
I spend my time in the garden, cooking, reading, watching films/tv, going on walks, hanging out with friends and pottering about.
I have done a bit of travelling and absolutely love it. I have been to Europe, Asia and the Americas. I love meeting new people and sharing with them which is why I am keen to open my house up to travellers and host people who are living their life a bit differently.
As well as a cultural exchange I am looking for someone who can help around the garden or house, or alternatively if you are not practical I am very interested in learning languages. I can speak a bit of French and would really like to practice with a French speaker. But I am also interested in learning other languages as well - Italian, Spanish, German.
looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
ClaudiaTypes of help and learning opportunities

This is ideal for someone looking for a relaxed and flexible work away experience. I am happy for the workawyer to use the house as a base and explore the surroundings and work at home when it suits them. The work would be no more than a day a week but this could be split to an hour a day or whatever works for them.
If the workawayer would like I am happy to take the person around and go places with them if it fits with my schedule.
I can offer english language assistance, and I would love to share meals or drinks and friendship. :)Help
I am looking for someone who can help me with the garden, or with some DIY projects around the place. I have started several projects myself but I am enthusiastic but I dont know what I am doing! It would be great if someone were able to teach me or eager to help and learn together.
A couple of projects I am working on is:
- building a gate,
-knocking down a wall,
-painting house (interior and exterior)
- building garden beds
- getting rid of weeds,
- mowing lawns
Alternatively I am looking for someone to do a language exchange with. i can speak some French and would love to practice speaking with someone. I would also like to learn Italian, Spanish and German.Languages

There are two bedroom options which the workawayer could choose between.
- One bedroom is more private and has a door that leads outside but can be very hot or very cold depending on the weather.
-The other bedroom is inside the main house and is quite big.
Both have a double bed.
The house has one bathroom but two toilets. What else ...
New Norfolk is a very pretty town about 35min drive from Hobart. It has most amenities - supermarket, post office, swimming pool, hardware store, gyms, several pubs, small gallery, cafes etc.. It has a beautiful river running through it which one can swim or kayak along.
There is a great brewery in town, a fancy cafe bookshop and the Agrarian Kitchen - a garden restaurant that people come from all over to eat at.
It is not far from Mount Field National Park which has stunning walks
The bus to Hobart leaves from near the house however they dont come that often. It is totally possible to stay here and rely on the bus but its probably more enjoyable with a car!A little more information
