Words cannot describe how efficient and professional Chris/Jesse was at doing odd jobs about our place that we had wanted done for ages. He can definitely be labelled as a “Jack of all Trades.” Chris spent roughly a week with us and my wife and I had him engaged in a number of different jobs, from getting things to work again (like locks on
… read more doors), excavating a building site for a garage, laying electrical cable to building an entire set of wooden steps over a slippery area up the side of our house. He takes pride in his work and was a pleasure to have at our place as a workaway.

My three weeks with Vargie and Pam passed all too quickly - and I was much fitter by the end of it. Rangiputa is a lovely hamlet with very friendly people, a real community that look out for each other. Staying in their house I felt part of the family and the work was interesting, outdoors and physical - just what I was looking for. The weekly
… read more visit to the Kaitaia Market was also a bonus, seeing a broader perspective of Northland and its people - a vibrant, community committed to the area and each other. While Rangiputa itself has few facilities, this is compoensated for by the wonderful beach, the sea on the doorstep, and extensive walking each way along the shore. It has to be one of the best Workaway situations I have experienced. These workaway guys, Noah and Florian, totally excelled with what was expected of them. They worked very hard for my wife and I and the long list of jobs that we had for them to achieve, they completed perfectly. They actually stayed on well past the week we initially agreed upon, to complete added jobs to the list. When these two guys left, my
