Our household is comprised of myself, and my husband, Robert. We have two cats and a dog. The cats are mostly outside during nice weather, but the dog has separation anxiety so stays mostly wherever I am. I am a therapist and see clients out of my home office, and my husband is a database developer. We offer vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, a healthy living environment, in an area which looks rural but is in the midst of a village.

Help in the house
My husband and I have built a strawbale house in the Wallonian part of Belgium. We still have a lot to do, as the house is unfinished. This includes plastering walls, building a fence, landscaping/gardening (we would like to start an organic garden), and other household tasks. If you are good at training dogs, we have a Jack Russell who needs to be trained to walk by our side, with and without the leash.
English, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, intermediate French, some German
Room, with separate bathroom (not en suite), queen-size bed. We will soon have another bedroom open as well, with a large bed.
Volunteers can take the bus or train to Mons, which is a thriving city and has been named the European Capital of Culture 2015. There are events in Mons all year round, which include music festivals, theatre, street celebrations, etc. Volunteers can also travel cheaply to and from Brussels or Paris via Mons, and trains leave every half hour from there. The fast train to Paris takes 1 hour 15 minutes.
We would like to ask that volunteers be non-smokers, and also that they not use perfumes or colognes in the house, due to a respiratory issue I have. Our home is alcohol-free, not due to any moral issues, but simply as a choice. If you choose to go out and drink, that's not an issue for us.
