Description
Hello and welcome to your future home stay in Tropical Far North Queensland ☀️🌴 Joe and I are 33 years old and Alana is 2. We have travelled the world as backpackers in our 20’s and have done work exchanges while we travelled. Now it is our turn to host 🤗
We recently bought our first home and need help around the house gardening, weeding, putting up new fencing, painting etc. We currently have a spare room with a king bed to suit a couple, single person or friends who don’t mind sharing a bed. We also have an Oztent and camp mattress that could be used if needed. We live very close by to beautiful parks, creeks and hikes. We have a boat and go out on the reef when the weather is good. We have two bikes you can use and are happy to help accomodate where we can ☺️Types of help and learning opportunities

Joe is Australian and I am Irish so we have both cultures at our home. We have travelled a lot and done work exchanges while travelling. These were some of the most lasting memories of our travels! We now want to offer to host people in the same position.
Staying at our house as part of a work exchange will gain an authentic cultural experience of Cairns. Our family likes to go to community markets and events that are on. We also like to go camping, fishing on the Great Barrier Reef and bush walking. We like to go into the Esplande in central Cairns on a weekend to see street performers and enjoy the ambiance. It is beautiful along Cairns esplande ☀️You can experience this, as well as the opportunity to improve your English skills as part of daily conversations and interactions with us. You are more than welcome to come along to any event you would like to with us or if you prefer not to that’s fine too 🙂
In return for your help, you can enjoy home-cooked meals and a genuine sense of community that goes beyond typical travel. If you want to, you can join in preparing traditional dishes and celebrate local holidays with us.Projects involving children
