    Description

We are Thorsten and Sabrine. Fifteen years ago we moved from Switzerland to France and now live in a very quiet and secluded little paradise together with our animals.

Thorsten works in the aviation business and I take care of our small private farm.
We have three retired horses enjoying their pension life here in the south-west of France, two of our own Knabstrupper mares, as well as two lovely dogs, two adorable cats and a small group of chickens.

Life here is peaceful and close to nature, and we enjoy sharing this place with open-minded people who would like to experience life in the countryside.

We are looking for independent and easy-going guests who feel comfortable spending time on their own as well.
In your free time you can enjoy nature, go for walks, do sports, read, or simply relax in the guesthouse. Our place is perfect for people who like calm surroundings and do not need constant entertainment.

You don’t need to be a horse expert.
We are happy about people who enjoy practical everyday tasks, helping a bit around the place, spending time outdoors, or simply being part of daily life here.
More important to us than special skills are reliability, common sense and a positive attitude.

We offer a separate guesthouse with your own kitchen and bathroom, so it works best for us when guests are quite independent and enjoy organizing their own time and meals while sharing some moments together during the day.

The most important thing for us is a respectful, relaxed atmosphere and doing things with care, kindness and mindfulness.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I can transmit everything I know about horses with an ethological approach in respect of the animal. I do have a diploma of the Swiss Stud (Haras National) and can learn you everything which has to do with horsekeeping including medical issues and nutrition of horses. But I will not teach riding lessons.
Nutrition, no matter horses or humains is one of my favorite subjects and I can give aou a lot of information for health and nutrition issues in humain and horses.
Please be aware that we are not french, that's to say even if I can speak french I cannot teach you in french. To really learn french you should look out for another host... But we can teach German :-)

  • Help

    Help

The areas we need help with are for example:
    - help with horses: feeding, cleaning the stables and the tackroom, brushing the horses
    - another daily task would be taking care of our chickens, cleaning of chicken house
    - gardening tasks (we have a big vegetable garden)
    - some wood protection work (light painting the terrasse, the window shelters...)
    - general cleaning e.g. some house cleaning tasks

    Accommodation

You would stay on your own in our small guesthouse few meters away from the main house. It has a small living room with a kitchenette (incl. refrigerator and cooker), a bedroom and you have your own bathroom with toilet and douche. I can accomodate two Workawayers at the same time.

Special diaries are no problem: so if you are vegan or vegeterian or ... - just tell me.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our place is quite remote and there is no public transport. It is very quiet and calm. You must love nature and animals, and look for peace and tranquility, in harmony with nature and animals.
I really like to mention that we are looking for a gentle & careful person, rather calm. Not a kind of "pampam" person. Thank you.
