    UPDATE 2019/2020
We are currently taking a break from the project.
In spring 2020 we plan to paint the house and outhouse, so if you are not afraid of DIRT and HIGHTS, go ahead and contact us.

Off-grid living on the countryside of Sweden! Live together with our little family in a moderate fashion and by deep-rooted Do-It-Yourself-philosophy.

Our farm is a self-supplying house on a half hectare on the forestry country-side of Närke. Water, heat and electricity are produced right here on place, without communal grid. All our solutions are invented and built by ourselves, and we enjoy the company of similar-minded people who value moderate living, independence and creating things themselves.
Some days there is no opportunity to make progress with the farm ("work"), so we use every opportunity when given. That can result in some days working morning to evening and other days only keeping up with the household (cooking, dishes, tidying). We want you to be part of our daily life and not count hours here and there.

Careful usage of our equipment is advised. Since electricity runs by a solarpowered 12V System you can NOT use every devise (charging phones goes fine). Be aware that this also means limited shower-time!

Tasks at hand are to maintain and to improve the house, making firewood, different renovations, gardening, the regular household, cooking and helping out with our daughter. We will work mostly together but sometimes you will work independent.

We can host maximal 3 people at a time (theoretically 4, but then it gets cramped).

We who live on the farm are:
David (31) and Nora (31) have been living here since 2014 and have made the renovations so far. We actually met during Noras first volunteering-holiday in Sweden! Lilja (4 years), who keeps everybody from working on the farm.
And our cat Snövit, protector of the realm.

We look forward to your message - please describe yourself a bit.
    Best wishes, Nora & David

We work with "byggnadsvård" which means we consider oldfashioned methods of renovation for our 200 year old house. For example will we renovate the old windows by using linseed oil and kit instead of installing new windows, which would mess with the ventilation.
We can teach you about gardening, off-grid solutions and electricity (our 12V-system), bushcrafting (survival + naturefood), cooking, living with a child, languages: swedish, german and english as well as swedish/german culture. We know how to find solutions to the weirdest things, too!

  • Help

Some upcoming projects *️️️️️️️together with us*️️️️️️️ are to renovate the windows and generally taking care of the yard. While staying here you would be living and eating with us in our house. This includes helping with the tasks of cooking, making fire, cleaning the house and taking turns helping out with our daughter Lilja, 4 years.

  • Accommodation

You get your own room upstairs. Currently there's a double bed, but we have 2 single beds that can be put in there as well. Upstairs is in "good condition" but needs renovation. You generally have to be ok with old-house-conditions; for cold nights you can get a warmwaterbottle, and we teach you how to use the fireplace.
If you have any specific wishes when it comes to food, please let us know, we are flexible in our diet but not good in cooking vegan.
Our farm is drug and smoke-free.
