We have a newly established garden, orchard and woodland of six acres in the Galloway countryside. The land is run organically and with permaculture principles. We are a busy family of six (four children under 11, plus cat).

Help around the house
There are plenty of opportunities to explore Galloway and we're two miles from the sea, with beaches all around. The house is located on a national cycle route and we are a short drive from Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help with the vegetable plot, strimming/scything bracken, drystone walling, woodland and orchard planting and maintenance, drainage and preparing firewood. We have chickens to look after.
A fully furnished spare double room and plenty of camping. All food is included as part of the exchange.
Extended public transport details, starting with Glasgow airport, then Glasgow city centre. Most volunteers will come through Dumfries, so scroll down to that bit if you're not coming via Glasgow.
There is a bus to Glasgow city centre from Glasgow airport (Glasgow Airport Express). You can then get the train to Dumfries (get off the airport shuttle bus at Glasgow Central station). Or bus to Dumfries (airport shuttle bus terminates at the bus station).
From Dumfries, get the 500 bus to Gatehouse of Fleet. The bus starts at Dumfries railway station and calls at the bus stances on the Whitesands (where the Glasgow bus terminates).
We will pick you up at Gatehouse of Fleet.
