    Description

    Hi guys,

Over the last 8 years, we have hosted in our house over 40 volunteers,
(and on our autism projects, more than 45 volunteers).
We are always looking for help with different talents.

We have an almost 3-year-old baby, a 5-year-old, a 7-year-old, and an easy-going 11-year-old with autism (Yahya). I am a stay-at-home mom with not enough time in the day to get everything done. Primarily, I'm looking for someone to help out around the house and with tasks to supplement Yahya's education.

Yahya is very capable and strongly benefits from individualized learning plans. For that reason, I need help making learning materials for him, leveraging technology to create routines, providing him with helpful visuals, and improving his TD Snap setup (the technology he uses to communicate). We especially love sharing knowledge, stories, and experiences with others from the special needs / Autism communities (ex. educators, family members, health professionals, etc), so please reach out if that is you! However, that is not a requirement, and we deeply appreciate the help from anyone who is eager and feels they could positively contribute to our family. I am also very open to any suggestions you may have, as we are always looking for new, fun ways to continue his progression. In addition, while this workaway isn't primarily focused on childcare, I may ask you to occasionally play with or help tutor my kids.

We are a multicultural family with a Moroccan/ Dutch/ Spanish background that we'd love to share with you including our wide range of different cultural foods, languages, and lifestyle habits!
We would like to raise our children in a multicultural environment with none of the stress that is imposed on them by the modern world! We love meeting multicultural individuals who are super flexible and can share their cultural backgrounds with us.
We love living in our small town of only 4200 inhabitants, Ontigola, which is surrounded by scenic views. Additionally, a supermarket and 4 bars & cafes are conveniently within a 5-minute walking distance. Plus, if you want to visit historical towns then Aranjuez (4 km) & Toledo (40 km) are nearby and both listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
Aranjuez also offers direct connections via train to the center of Madrid (50 minutes) & Valencia (3 hours) and many more places.
We are currently learning about permaculture as we aim to have our own care farm in Morocco within the next two years, with a permaculture vegetable and fruit garden. If you can help deepen our knowledge then please contact us and for more information, you can also check out our additional work away page by sending me a message.
We currently have a garden with a few fruit trees (apricot, orange, pear, and a small avo tree). We want to establish a herb garden - maybe a herb spiral and medicine wheel!

We want to open our house to share it with like-minded people, helping us all to grow and learn. Our typical days include working hard in the garden and light housework, relaxing with some food and a drink whilst exchanging ideas! Of course, watching the sunset from our rooftop terrace which offers a phenomenal view of the sun setting over the hills, and maybe even making a fire when it gets cold!

We are interested in psychology, sustainability, healthy food, a healthy mind, permaculture, and different ways of living.
