Description
My name is Tino, proffesional sailor, boatbuilder and enthusiastic facilitator of all things afloat, the simpler the better. I am looking for help in establishing a non commercial sailing club with environmental awarness and a view to revitalize our local Ria.
I have recently found some roots on the beautiful shores of Galicia, Spain, where I am working hard to promote a community based, sustainable approach to revitalizing the available local Rias for wind and muscle powered watersports. I am hoping to combine the influx of foreign talent and energy with the local need for a reconnection to forgotten trades and pleasures based aound the local waters.
I have collected various craft of different sizes and want to use those to open eyes and create awareness of the often forgotten simplicity encountered afloat.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I am offering a long term opportunity to explore northern Galicia.
The bigger project is a non commercial, community based idea of establishing a sailing club and to promote sustainable river uses. I am hoping to establish long term relations with interested workaway friends to help me realize this dream.Help
I am reactivating this profile midwinter in order to offer a longterm opportunity to become part of the project and life in Galicia to a practically minded person or couple, hopefully with a love for water and some boatbuilding back ground.
The suitable workawayer would help finish renovation work on a old townhouse in the fishing port of Carino, set on the beautiful Cabo Ortegal peninsula in norhtern Galicia.
The house is offered to the right person as a longterm base, lasting into next summer and the sailing season, in exchange for help around various projects, mostly requiring some practical building, gardening or mechanical knowledge and self initiative.
The workawayer will be left to their own devices and work can be tailored very much to individual preferences. I am looking at long term occubancy of the house, no less than 8 weeks.
This is a position requiring a trusting and trustworthy individual with own resources and initiatives and might require a move into our larger rural property in order to house sit there and take care of our cat.
Projects to get involved in include house renovation, oat building, gardening, car resoration, woodwork, landscaping. Workhours will be discussed individually and will depend on selfsufficiency levels.Languages

A typical setup would involve a half day of work input for basic accomodation and a large meal supplied. Sailing and other activities after hours or on weekends are available, according to levels of pre knowledge and self motivation.
