This is a not-for-profit community project, connecting people with island conservation projects. The Hauraki gulf is home to many islands with extensive re-forestation programs in progress.
The boat is an 18m steel yacht, 12+ berths, 100 % fossil fuel free with electric secondary propulsion. Beside being very comfortable and spacious, the yacht offers modern amenities, hot shower, electric cooking, free Wi-Fi , boat toys (kayak, dinghy , fishing gear, awesome outside living space to enjoy sunsets on the Harbour...).
For this endeavor, I am looking for assistance on the boat (casual maintenance) and on the project, as I would like to develop the marketing strategy.
Help is in exchange for accommodation only. The boat is on a swing mooring in the Waitemata Harbour, about 5-minutes dinghy ride from the North Shore.
If this adventure appeals you, please get in touch and come enjoy the yacht life!

General Maintenance
You can experience life on a boat, where international culture sharing is always happening.
You can also learn about boat structure and engineering as well as learn about Hauraki Gulf conservation efforts.
Near completion, the boat needs some maintenance and care such as woodwork, painting, systems documentation, accommodation improvement or storage organization.
On the other hand, I am looking for people with communication, video-editing or graphic skills to help advertise the project widely.
Expected hours are not 4-5h but rather 3h a day since only accommodation is provided.

Yacht life is different! It's an experience of its own where you'll find plenty of advantages, especially in the summer when the weather is great. A wood-fired stove keeps you cozy when the weather is rough. The boat has all the essentials: refrigerator, microwave, water, plenty of beds to choose from, shower, toilet. It has a beautiful view in the daytime, like you are not in the middle of the biggest city in New Zealand at all.
You will have access to a dinghy and a kayak that can take you to shore.
There is a supermarket close to shore (3kms) and buses (end of the road) and ferry terminal (2.5kms) also.
Very nice local beaches just a few paddle strokes away.
