This place is a 1/4-acre all-volunteer non-profit flower farm in a historic district blocks from Ann Arbor's walkable downtown and an hour from Detroit. We offer neighbors a place to be, relax, socialize and smell (and pick!) the flowers. The farm allows visitors to pick bouquets, encourages a vast diversity of pollinators and offers a small CSA program. We run the farm as three part-time volunteers who also work with other farms and the University. I live at the farm and the two farm-mates live across the street and two doors down.
Help with Eco Projects
DIY and building projects
Volunteers have many opportunities to learn about gardening, farm management, local food infrastructure, ecology, community, and historic restoration, as well as explore the cultural offerings of one of the most educated cities in the Midwest including music, film and art. Consider checking out the Argus Farm Stop, the Michigan Theater, the Ark, and the Ann Arbor Art Center as well as University of Michigan's sprawling museums and arboretum.
We accept a wide range of help including gardening (weeding, watering, dead-heading, landscaping, digging in new beds, etc.), maintenance of our 110-year-old house (painting, plastering, cabinetry, etc.), and community organizing (planning and events).

Two of us speak Spanish and one of us is interested in learning Chinese and practicing French.
We have a furnished private bedroom and shared bathroom available at the farm for guests and volunteers, as well shared kitchen and living room areas. We supply fresh, organic food from our garden and our network of local farms during the growing season and regularly share informal meals together. Volunteers are welcome to share our food, cook on their own, or enjoy Ann Arbor's many restaurant offerings.
