Description
Hello, So I'm moving back onto a small farm, here in central -ouest France
and I'm looking for normal down to earth people to help me.
I grew up fruit farming, but also have lived and worked when a young adult in towns as a landscape planner. After which I returned to farming beef cattle and fruit commercially for the last 20 yrs in uK and France, I again recently experienced a 4 yr (unplanned ) break from actually running a farm. The break is over! now need to be back on the land with the plan to evolve different projects...so I'm calling out for others with the same motivation to help evolve the farm.
Initially though...work in the month of May is just help with moving to the farm (10km away) but if that sounds tedious , which it probably is! ...I am open to coffee breaks , or trips out / whatever.etc to make it bearable, Even stopping to do some actual farming...
However my main ask is to find someone to help me to set up the farm. I would love to welcome normal happy people who perhaps are interested in the same thing. I'd love to work with people who are interested in stockgrazing, ...I'd also like to see what can be done for renewable energy and water, soil rebuilding, home produced meat and eggs as well as commercial production. etc.
I'm experienced also with setting up and managing Pyo fruit, orchards for direct sales in France and would love to set that up again, but this time in more as a diverse mix...that is ..agro food forest.
I'm 57, still young at heart, and I love to have projects on the go ...but I get my motivation knowing there are others about too who also love to have working projects on the go.
Me, I'm a normal down to earth person, love being sociable, like sports and meeting knew people. I enjoy taking breaks too to enjoy what life has to offer, and spend time with others. Am a mum of 2 children who are now independent and have flown the nest, fluent in french since they grew up here. I miss having family about...
So whilst farmed conventionally before, this time it's much smaller, just 33ha,
...I work also as a farming consultant here in France in my 4 yrs, (regenerative farming, Savory Institute and Elaine Ingham trained, soil biology and farm planning.... ) , and i work with local commercial stock farmers ... stock work and hay/ silage making etc. However real practical being at home on the farm is what always made me tick and it will be great to be back.
Please do feel welcome to come and muck in... your ideas and your company are welcome.. if it's because you just want a change or a break from whatever you are doing that's fine.
.... please do contact me.
