    Description

Steve & I are a Christian couple living in a little slice of paradise… our homestead is nestled in a valley with 70 acres of native bush, pasture land and streams… all within a 2 minute drive to the beautiful Helena Bay. We have a small herd of milking goats, some sheep, ducks and chickens, and also beehives…. all supporting our off grid self sufficient lifestyle.

On the scenic coastal route to the Bay of Islands, we are close to the Te Araroa walking trail and only a 10 minute drive from Oakura.

Depending on the season we are happy to give our guests the opportunity to experience our daily farming and beekeeping activities

We would like help with mostly outdoor projects….gardening, firewood, small fencing projects and future painting plans.

The room provided has a queen bed and its own toilet.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

There will be plenty of opportunities to see how we homestead in New Zealand in comparison to other countries sharing our NZ culture in the process. Learning a variety of tasks from animal care, food harvesting and we can also provide learning opportunities in the beehives. We have a group of neighbours over once a week to discuss the word and other things which you are welcome to join if you so desire.
