    Description

We are David and Hilary. David is a retired advertising photographer and Hilary is a NHS professional part time . In 2016 we were able to realise our dream and take our barge that we have spent 10 years converting to France to cruise the beautiful French canals.
We've spent the last couple of years in Auxerre in Burgundy, which has been fantastic.
But.... in order to be able to keep cruising we must comply with regulations... so ..
we are now in Ghent,Belgium, where the boat has been in the shipyard to undergo maintenance during the winter. We now need to spend some time making her pretty again as time in shipyards is no good for cosmetics!!
We are looking for people to help us paint/ varnish and generally clean the boat , to bring her back up to standard.
Once we've done that we will be starting to cruise again, probably heading south into France again.
The barge is 33metres(110feet) long and has 6 cabins , 2 bathrooms, fully fitted kitchen and laundry and cosy saloon/ dining area and a huge outside deck for dining / lounging. The barge is well fitted and comfortable. We have limited wifi.

You would have your own room, shared bathroom and free access to kitchen / saloon / deck areas. The barge has central heating , wood burning stove and limited air conditioning.

We are easy going, enjoy meeting people and sharing a meal and a glass of wine on our lovely barge.
Do get in touch if this is of interest to chat about what is involved .
