Description
We are a blended family living in a quiet, rural part of Denmark — surrounded by fields, animals and forest. Several days a week, we also stay in my partner’s city apartment, which gives a beautiful balance between peaceful country life and a lively urban rhythm with culture, cafés and city life.
I’m Sophia – a self-employed therapist and mentor – and my partner is a doctor. We have four children aged 2-24. On weekdays, two children are at home (both in daycare nearby), and on weekends there are more kids in the house. The daily rhythm includes picking up Rosemary from daycare (just 5 minutes away), handling household tasks, and spending time with the children. Maybe the horses.
We are looking for a responsible, independent person who enjoys a mix of calm nature and vibrant family life. Your help includes:
• General cleaning and tidying
• Laundry and keeping common areas clean
• Language exchange and help with the children (especially when I’m working)
• Cooking support and kitchen cleaning
If you have a driver’s license, you will often have access to a car.
You’ll generally work 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, but sometimes you’ll have time off during the week and help instead with Rosemary in the weekend. We make a flexible plan together to make sure it fits both your life and ours.
We offer a welcoming, family-oriented environment with space for both quiet moments and connection. You’ll have your own room, and join us for daily dinner. This is a great opportunity if you want to experience both the countryside and city sides of Danish life in a grounded, real and meaningful way.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Staying with us offers a unique opportunity to experience everyday life in a modern Scandinavian family – rooted in nature, rhythm, and conscious living.
You’ll learn about Danish culture, language, and daily family life, while also experiencing both rural simplicity and occasional city life. We are a Christian family, and faith is a natural and meaningful part of our everyday rhythm – including shared meals, prayer, and respectful conversation.
I run my own business and have a small boutique connected to my work. We also have a few horses, and while your tasks don’t directly involve riding, you’ll see what it’s like to live close to animals and care for them.
If you’re open, curious, and willing to engage, you’ll leave with a deep understanding of how to live close to the land, to others, and to your values.

Help
We are looking for someone who can help with daily household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, tidying up, and light kitchen duties. Some days you will also help with childcare – reading a book, playing, or going for a walk with our youngest.
Work hours are usually 5 hours per day from 13:00 to 18:30, Monday to Friday, with a break during dinner.
Sometimes you may have time off during the week and instead help on Saturday with childcare. We plan this together based on what fits both of us.
If you’re independent, responsible, and good at keeping things tidy, you’ll fit in well here.
