    Description

Now we are ready to start looking for new person for next winter season to join us and our 30+ sleddogs.

What We Offer – and What We Expect
We are primarily looking for someone who can commit to the full winter season – from November to March.
The winter here is long, dark, and very cold, and it's important to understand what that truly means – both physically and mentally.
We will carefully consider each application and only proceed with someone we believe is truly suited for this role and lifestyle.

We are a small local family-run business living for our dogs.
Life here in Lapland is physical, genuine, and often challenging – but also deeply rewarding for the right person who is ready to commit fully.

We are looking for someone who:

Is independent and comfortable being alone – life here is extremely quiet outside of working hours.
You should be from an EU country and mature enough to handle this lifestyle.

Can take initiative and keep things in order.
The main tasks involve dog care, morning feeding, kennel cleaning, preparing the dogs for tours, tending to them between tours, and ensuring everything is clean, organized, and well maintained.
Snow shoveling is also a significant part of our everyday life throughout the winter.

Understands that we live and work closely together and can respect our family’s need for personal space and privacy.
Because you will be living in our home, we are specifically looking for a woman.
Based on past experiences, our dogs tend to work better with women, and it is also important to us that our daughter feels comfortable having a woman in the house.

Is extremely social, trustworthy, and service-minded.
You will also help welcome our guests, assist with winter clothing, and sometimes join them during meals to help ease the pressure on us.

Can eat our local food, which includes a lot of wild game from hunting and fishing.
We often eat together, and it’s important that you're comfortable with this part of our lifestyle.

For the right person, and when there is time and space, we’re happy to let you join sled dog tours.
If you show the right mindset and potential, and if the season allows, we may even train you in the basics of guiding.

You need to speak good English, as that’s our main working language. If you also speak Dutch or German, that’s a plus – many of our guests come from Belgium and the Netherlands.

You will be the only employee working with us during the season. We are a small family business – just me and my husband running everything together – and we’re now looking for one more reliable person to join us for the winter.

This is not a holiday – it’s a lifestyle choice. For the right person, we offer winter clothing, food, accommodation, and a salary, along with a unique opportunity to live and work with sled dogs above the Arctic Circle. It’s a big responsibility, but also a chance to grow, learn, and become a meaningful part of our small team.

We will make our final decision no earlier than July. If we haven’t found the right person by then, we’ll continue to accept applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
