Description
AT THE MOMENT, we are taking a break after the intensive winter season 2024/2025 and will soon start planning for the upcoming winter.
BY THE END OF APRIL, we will make a decision regarding whether we can welcome new people for the coming season 2025/2026
Join Us in Swedish Lapland for Winter 2025-2026
Are you looking for a unique adventure in the Arctic wilderness?
We are searching soon for someone who is committed to staying for a longer period, allowing enough time to grow, learn, and truly develop in a genuine way with the sled dogs.
Starting in summer 2025, we will begin looking for a dedicated and dog-loving person to join our team for the winter season.
We are a multilingual, hard-working family living in the heart of Swedish Lapland, sharing our lives with over 30 happy and energetic sled dogs.
For winter 2025–2026 (November through March), we may be offering an incredible opportunity to experience life at a professional sled dog kennel during the busiest and most rewarding time of the year.
What to Expect:
No prior experience is required, but this is not a vacation or a casual experience. It’s our every day life and can be physically demanding work in extreme conditions.
Temperatures can drop to -40°C, and daylight is limited during the winter months for a long time.
You need to be prepared for these challenges.
We always have a plan for the week and each day, but flexibility and adaptability are essential, as plans often change when working with animals and customers.
You need to be social and outgoing too!
We offer all meals and free accomodation during your stay.
You must be able to eat normal house food, as hunting and fishing are an important part of our lifestyle. Meals often include what we hunt and prepare ourselves.
Life here is remote and surrounded by wilderness.
There is no public transportation, so independence and adaptability are crucial.
What We Offer:
This is a chance to experience the unique beauty of Lapland and gain firsthand knowledge of working with sled dogs and running a kennel.
During your free time, you’re welcome to join us on sled dog tours (if possible) or explore other winter activities. You’ll have the opportunity to create your own adventures while respecting the busy rhythm of life here.
This opportunity is for someone who is serious about embracing the lifestyle of a musher.
We expect you to be fully committed, show respect for our family, customers and contribute to the care of our dogs and the kennel with the same dedication we do.
For right person we teach guiding whit customers and husky teams when you have developed to that level so you are ready for it.
We are happy to provide references from our previous Workaways if we find the right person for this opportunity.
We make sure to give back generously when the right person joins us, offering not only a unique experience but also opportunities to learn, grow, and feel appreciated for their efforts.
If this sounds like the challenge and experience you’re looking for, please get in touch.
We look forward to welcoming someone who shares our passion for dogs, nature, and life in the Arctic wilderness.Types of help and learning opportunities
