The place is located in the green, rolling hills of Georgia, where we provide sanctuary and rehabilitation for giant breed dogs and other vulnerable companion animals. In addition to our rescue efforts, we provide grassroots community education and outreach and support for existing animal welfare efforts.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit management while making a real difference in the lives of rescued animals. The place is located in a small, close-knit community, but is minutes from a major interstate that provides easy access to Atlanta and Augusta.
Love working with big dogs? We are seeking a full time help managing the day to day operations at our giant breed rescue and sanctuary located in Norwood. You will help independently and alongside our Executive Director in the many different aspects of the rehabilitation process. The opportunity offers a flexible schedule, and requires a minimum 6-month commitment. Helpers will be compensated with a weekly stipend, and housing accommodations will be provided.
Minimum requirements include the ability to lift 50lbs, work outdoors, and comfortably interact with large animals. Previous experience in a shelter/rescue environment, farm and/or construction experience, giant/guardian breed experience, or general experience with dog handling/training is preferred, but not required.

Residence is a recently renovated house with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The home is located off-site (less than a quarter of a mile from the sanctuary), and has a large fenced yard with plenty of space for a garden.
A vehicle (for licensed drivers) and a bike are available , and alternatively, the Executive Director is happy to assist with any transportation needs.
Norwood and the surrounding areas are a nature-lover's dream, with numerous state parks, lakes, and rivers close by. For those that prefer city life, Augusta and Athens are within an hours drive, and the capital, Atlanta, is less than an hour and a half away.
