Hi, I'm Wilber, Colombian, 32 years old, and a lover of surfing, nature, and the simple life. After many years of traveling and meeting incredible people, I decided to make a big dream come true: to open my own hostel on the Pacific Ocean—an authentic, peaceful place full of good energy.
I'm in the final stages of building a surf hostel located in a magical corner of the Colombian Pacific Ocean: Playa Ladrilleros. It's a place surrounded by jungle, ocean, mangroves, and endless skies. Here, time passes slowly, the sound of the ocean accompanies everything, and the sunsets are magical.
I was born and raised here, but I've traveled to many parts of Colombia and other countries. Even so, I always come back to this place—because it has something unique, something that can't be explained, only felt. It's my home, my roots, and now also the place where I want to welcome people from all over the world.
I want to create a space where travelers can rest, share, learn, and also contribute. A place where time flows naturally, where the waves mark the rhythm of the day, and where each person leaves a small mark on this project.
Besides me, I'm sometimes supported by family, friends from the town, or travelers who have stayed longer. The spirit of the place is collaborative and relaxed, where everyone finds their space to contribute and also to rest.

Hola, soy Wilber, colombiano, tengo 32 años y soy un amante del surf, la naturaleza y la vida simple. Después de muchos años viajando y conociendo personas increíbles, edecidí hacer realidad un gran sueño: abrir mi propio hostal en el Pacífico – un lugar auténtico, tranquilo y lleno de buena energía.
Estoy en la etapa final de construcción del surf hostal, ubicado en un rincón mágico del Pacífico colombiano: Playa Ladrilleros. Es un lugar rodeado de selva, mar, manglares y cielos infinitos. Aquí el tiempo pasa despacio, el sonido del mar lo acompaña todo, y los atardeceres son mágicos.
Nací y crecí aquí, pero he viajado por muchas partes de Colombia y otros países. Aun así, siempre vuelvo a este lugar – porque tiene algo único, algo que no se puede explicar, solo sentir. Es mi hogar, mi raíz y ahora también el lugar donde quiero recibir a personas de todo el mundo.
Quiero crear un espacio donde viajeros puedan descansar, compartir, aprender y también aportar. Un lugar donde el tiempo fluye de manera natural, donde las olas marcan el ritmo del día, y donde cada persona deja una pequeña huella en este proyecto.
Además de mí, a veces me apoyan familiares, amigos del pueblo o viajeros que se han quedado más tiempo. El espíritu del lugar es colaborativo y relajado, donde cada persona encuentra su espacio para contribuir y también para descansar.
Si te gusta la vida sencilla, el contacto con la naturaleza, el océano y los proyectos con alma, este lugar te va a encantar.

I'm Colombian and know Ladrilleros and its surroundings like the back of my hand. I love sharing this place, the beach, the jungle, and the local culture. I'm also a surf instructor and can give lessons or accompany you to the sea.
I enjoy music and dance, and I'm familiar with the town's social life, so I can show you great places to enjoy. I'm learning English and would love to practice with the volunteers.
There's space to spend time with the community or enjoy the tranquility and contact with nature, whichever you prefer.
Soy colombiano y conozco Ladrilleros y su naturaleza como la palma de mi mano. Me encanta compartir este lugar, la playa, la selva y la cultura local. También soy profesor de surf y puedo dar clases o acompañarte en el mar.
Me gusta la música y el baile, y conozco la vida social del pueblo, así que puedo mostrarte buenos lugares para disfrutar. Estoy aprendiendo inglés y me gustaría practicar con los voluntarios.
Hay espacio para compartir con la comunidad o para disfrutar de la tranquilidad y el contacto con la naturaleza, según lo que prefieras.
Help
Right now, there are always one or two volunteers with me, and some of my family members also live nearby. If you're willing to share, a very nice community can emerge—and if you prefer more peace and quiet, that's fine too. There's room for every energy here.
Support lasts about three hours a day, Monday through Friday, and weekends are free to rest or explore the surroundings.
The tasks I propose are varied, and I like to adapt them according to each person's interests and abilities. Some of the activities you could do include:
Taking care of the garden and plants;
cleaning leaves and maintaining the outdoor spaces;
painting, decorating, or contributing creative ideas (imagination is welcome!);
building or repairing things with me (I've built almost everything you see here);
helping me improve my English—some basic classes would be a great gift for me.
Later, when the hostel is up and running, I'll also need help at the reception and with day-to-day organization.

En este momento, siempre hay una o dos personas voluntarias conmigo, y también viven cerca algunos miembros de mi familia. Si tienes ganas de compartir, puede surgir una comunidad muy bonita – y si prefieres más tranquilidad, también está bien. Aquí hay espacio para cada energía.
El apoyo es de unas 3 horas al día, de lunes a viernes, y los fines de semana son libres para descansar o explorar los alrededores.
Las tareas que propongo son variadas, y me gusta adaptarlas según los intereses y habilidades de cada persona. Algunas de las actividades que podrías hacer son:
Cuidar el jardín y las plantas
Limpiar hojas y mantener los espacios exteriores
Pintar, decorar o aportar ideas creativas (la imaginación es bienvenida!)
Construir o reparar cosas conmigo (yo he construido casi todo lo que ves aquí)
Ayudarme a mejorar mi inglés – unas clases básicas serían un gran regalo para mí
Más adelante, cuando el hostal esté en funcionamiento, también necesitaré ayuda en la recepción y en la organización del día a día.

Accommodation
I offer free accommodation at the hostel, with access to the entire beautiful grounds: an outdoor kitchen, a mini outdoor gym, and a campfire pit. Volunteer accommodation is provided. This is a dormitory with three beds. The room is shared with a maximum of two other people. Surfboards are also available for those who want to enjoy the ocean.
We can offer free coffee with sugar every morning :)
