Description
We are a Vocational Training Centre for apprentices (in the town of Tulle - France) offering specialized courses in the fields of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Food Production, Hairdressing, Cabinet Making, Butchery, Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Artisanal Bread Baking and Chocolate Making.
Tulle (14000 inhabitants) is located in Corrèze, in a valley surrounded with hills, with Corrèze River running through it. It is long, narrow, tall with steep stairways and very pretty!
Tulle is a commune and capital of the Corrèze département in the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region in south west of France (200 km from Bordeaux, 90 from Limoges and 25 from Brive). Known sometimes as "the town on the seven hills", Tulle rose to prominence through the development of its manufacturing sector.

workawayers are in contact with apprentices, students (young and adult) teachers; it's a great opportunity to get to know social and cultural life in our area.
we also have workawayers from different countries at the same time on our campus.
Help
The work is varied and interesting. Our main objective is to provide our apprentices with a broad range of cultural experiences through hosting international Workawayers as well as to give you a uniquely French experience through interactions with our apprentices and staff members.
We will plan your weekly schedule with you according to your interests and our needs. We ask that you be flexible with your time and keep an open mind.
The general works will include (but not limited to):
● Giving a presentation on your country and culture through educational activities.
● Contributing to the centre's blog and website.
● Assisting the teaching team(mostly the English teacher) in the classrooms during the day and the educational team (administrative and computer works) after school.
You will have the opportunity to attend some of the apprenticeship classes that interest you.
Please let us know if you have any additional skills you think might help us, for example: videography, website design, graphic design, photography...

Accommodation
A spacious 3-bedroom apartment is located right next to centre. It is a very comfortable living space with individual single-occupant bedrooms.
There are plenty of windows and a balcony. It is very quiet in the evening.
Bed, linens and blankets are provided but do bring your own towels and toiletries. Every room has a cupboard for you to store and hang your clothes in, a chair and a little bedside table.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a dining table, a sink, a coffemaker and a microwave. There is no stove or oven. During the weekends food will be prepared in advance by the chef. Meals during the week are served in the centre.
The bathroom is clean and simple. There is a bath/shower, a sink and a separate toilet next door. You are responsible for keeping the apartment clean at all times.
There is Wi-Fi in the apartment.
Please note that you will be completely by yourself (or with other Workawayers) in the premises during the weekend.

We welcome volunteers for a period of 2 to 4 weeks .
Depending on how well you get along with the staff and apprentices, you might get invited to spend time with them over the weekends. If you prefer to explore the area by yourself, a car is readily available for european driving license holders.
You are responsible for acquiring your own travel and health insurance prior to coming to us.

I loved doing my workaway at the vocational centre in Tulle. The staff is great and the English teacher Ouidet very good at what she does. The students were very interesting to work with, made me think of myself at that age. 😀 The hills are steep there which is great for my cycling. Many thanks guys hope to see you again one day.

First workaway experience, best workaway experience. Everyone there is the nicest person in the world (yes, everyone) the town is just beautiful, even the weather was perfect. I had a really great time and made some really good friends. This place is amazing, oh! and the food is great. Thanks to everyone it couldn't have been better.
