    ~ 2022 ~ we host 1-2 week-stays, people 22 years old or older ~

LAST MINUTE! Help us from 8th august with indoor walls (we use clay, straw, water and sand). Stay 3-10 days! It will be dirty but fun!

We are avalible 16-30th August (7-14 days). We are searching for someone intrested in woodworking to finish our outdoor walls on the mainhouse. You have to be independent and comfortable with using tools and machines. We also make claywalls and paint. We harvest from our garden and pick berries in the nature.

We renovate the outdoor walls on the house and renovate a yoga/guesthouse. We renovate with eco friendly materials and it's important that you feel comfortable working outside with your hands and use tools. it's very important that you can stay outside even if the weather is not sunny. Bring good working clothes (sometimes we paint).

We want you to be creative and independent. Intrested in simple organic lifestyle. Good with kids and like to help with cleaning, dishes, cooking, taking care of animals. Things that we are doing all the time every day even outside the "working hours". You will have some free time and we recomend you to explore the surroundings, maybe meet up other travellers! That will make your time here more fun, because our daily life is mostly about cooking, cleaning, renovating, building, take care of kids. But even in your freetime you will help us with some daily tasks (empty dishwasher for example).

We will for this time only host persons over 22 years old. You should now how to take care of a household, cleaning for example.

Please also read our profile about food before you send us a message.

We are a family with 3 children. Max and Louise, Isidor (2015), Vilde (2018) and Ask (2020). The kids don’t speak english but we had workawayers before and they now that you don’t speak swedish. (But we are very happy if you speak some swedish or if you are motivated to learn some words). We also have a cats, Iris, and some ducks, chickens, bees and rabbits.

We live on the countryside 8 km from Laholm, Halland. We moved here winter 2020 and we have done a lot since then. Our house in quite small but with a big garden where we do a lot of different projects. We grow some vegetables, herbs and flowers. We’re also in the process of renovating our house both outside and inside, mainly with traditional nature materials or new ”eco” materials.

Louise’s intrests are gardening, grow organic vegetables, knitting, embroidery and other crafts in organic and natural materials.

Some of Max’s intrests are woodworking and creating things with wood, but also traditional technics and hand tools.

We both really like to crate things!

We mostly eat vegetarian food but sometimes also fish. We buy organic and/or local food as often we can and we also grow some vegetables and herbs in our garden. We always buy eggs and honey locally and vegetables in season. Our food is basically based on eggs, milk/oatmilk, cheese, butter, vegetables, beans/peas, pasta, rice, bread/flour.

We use wheat or rye flour for sourdough baking but also for pies and other cookings, we can’t offer gluten free food. We eat butter, yoghurt and cheese so you needs to be ok with eating diary. We eat a lot of vegetables and choose our ingrediens well, We cook as much as possible by ourselfs and mostly we know where our food comes from. But sometimes we also eat processed food as falafel or vegetarian meatballs. :)

We will make lunch, fika and dinner for you. If you want some meals between that or if you prefer to eat something else or maybe some snacks - you have to buy it yourself. Sometimes you can go with me to the grocery store, otherwise we have three bikes so you can go to Laholm.

About breakfast - we have a new rutine for volonteers. You will eat breakfast by yourself, we will give you bread, butter, cheese, eggs or oats, maybe sometimes something ”extra” but this is what we offer and you can always buy yourself something else. You will eat breakfast by yourself and we will meet up at 9!

Important! Alcohol/drugs or smoking is NOT allowed.

    Accommodation

At the moment we renovate the guesthouse for volonteers. There will be a tiny room upstairs with a bed for one or two persons. Our plan is to downstairs make a space for yoga, a small kitchen and a place to relax/play music/hang out. At the moment it looks like a mess! The room upstairs will hopefully be done before summer but downstairs is mostly soil and you will help us with it! :)
When you stay with us this summer you will stay in this small room or in a ”glamping”-tent. You can also bring your own tent or stay in your van.

There won’t be wifi in the guesthouse/garden but feel free to use our livingroom in the mainhouse. Also the washingmachine, shower (or you can go to the lake) and toilet until the outdoortoilet is done. Be comfortable with using a outdoortoilet with a view!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our house is next to some beautiful fields and you can also see (and hear) our neighbours sheep and lambs. If you need a break you can take a walk or borrow a bike and go to our closest village Ysby, there is a small shop and a café. Some days we can go to a lake, the sea or visit Laholm (our closest city). Sometimes we go to bigger cities like Halmstad or Helsingborg. Then you can go with us and explore the cities on your own or with us. We also explore our surroundings a lot, both nature, cafés and fleamarkets. Laholm is an old beautiful city with some small shops (an organic shop!) and fleamarkets.
