Description
Hi! We are a multigenerational household in Oakland,Ca. Grandpa, mom, dad, and two little ones. We live in a beautiful neighborhood in the Oakland Hills, with views of San Francisco. Our house is a 20 minute drive to San Francisco and Berkeley. There is great hiking just minutes away. You will have your own room and a shared bathroom.

We do lots of weekend trips around California and are happy to bring you along! We have a large community and you will have the chance to meet lots of people! We speak a mix of Spanish, English, and German.

Help
We ask workawayers to spend 2 hours a day cleaning around the house. This includes doing dishes (including after dinner clean up), vacuuming, and general tidying. If you know how to cook, we would love to have you cook for us! The other 3 hours, we ask for help driving, grocery shopping, gardening and teaching Spanish or German.

We all speak English. Dad speaks German. Mom speaks Spanish. Kids speak all 3! We are looking to host native speakers that are willing to speak only in their home language with us (Spanish or German). We work hard to maintain Spanish and German as our children’s primary languages. So, when our children are present, we ask for no English!
Accommodation
Own bedroom with a shared bathroom and shower. Access to the shared kitchen. Laundry. There is a bus about a 10 minute walk away that can take you to the Bart station and around the Bay Area. You must be comfortable taking public transportation, Uber, or renting a car, we do not provide transportation.

The longer you can stay, the better! We prefer stays of at least 2 months!
