    Description

I'm planning to convert an old van to a camper, it is in stage zero at the moment, as in I haven't started it yet. I'm looking for someone who either has experience or interest in joining such a project for about 2 weeks. We can plan the process together, get some tools and materials for the work, and get some things done. I'm working during the day, so I'd be available to join forces in the afternoons. I have a room available with a queen size mattress, so I can host a person or a couple. I'm happy to provide you with food, there is shower, electricity, internet, pretty much what you'd imagine in a standard apartment. I'd be happy to combine this project with some exploration, there are quite a few beaches around and a national park, where we could go, explore, work a little during the weekends. Lisbon is also about 30-40mins away by public transport.

I am a software engineer. I like yoga, chess, other board games, skating, padel, climbing, and a bunch of other things, and I'm always happy to try out anything new. I love cooking for people, (but/and) I am vegan.

  • Help

    Help

I could use some help with painting, installing insulation, cutting wooden panels and drilling them up, adding a roof window, installing an electric and water system. I guess this is it in a nutshell.
It would be obviously nice if you have experience with such things and have some tricks under your sleeve, but I'm not expecting you to be a born handyman/woman, this project is supposed to be about experimenting, doing lots of research, and trying things out. If you're interested in how to pull off a project like this, that is a great start! More important for me to have someone who's easy to work and live together with.

    Accommodation

I have a private room available for a person or a couple. It has a large double mattress, unfortunately no furniture at this stage, I've recently moved in, and haven't gotten to fully furnish this room. There one toilet in the apartment with shower, which you'd need to share with me. You're free to use anything in the apartment for your needs, the current designated workspace is in the kitchen are, where there's a large table.

    What else ...

I live in Barreiro, which is around 20min boat ride away from the center of Lisbon, where you can find mostly everything cities can offer from parties to shops and meetups and so on. I live close to a big park, which is a good place to go out with a book, if you are into that. Lots of outdoor gyms around. We have quite a few beaches close by as well. I'd be happy to go camping somewhere for a few days.

As mentioned before, I'm vegan, but I'd be happy to cook, or do like a cooking exchange if you also like cooking, to have some gastro inspiration.

I work remotely as well, I have decent internet at home. I don't have a special workspace with screens and fancy stuff, but there is space for your laptop where you can arrange your temporary home office.
