We are very much looking forward to welcome new workawayers
we are a family of three - Michael (40), Evikka (36) and Madlene (7). We live in a small town near Innsbruck in Tirol. Michael works in real estate (risk management), Eva is finishing her studies to become a teacher (French, English) and Madlene goes to school.
We dont have a TV but rather try to spend our freetime doing things we like - reading, doing sports, gardening, raising our daughter, realising our creative projects in our atelier (Michael loves working with wood, I like sewing, Madlene does her little arts projects). We are very active, we like ... going places, learning and trying out new things, planning and realising new projects. We eat healthy organic food - but we do not have any 'limitations' (we are not vegan or vegetarian although we can live this way without any problems). We also love animals - especially Madlene - but unfortunately we do not have any...( at least for now :-D )
We did already workaway stays ourselves and it was a great experience so we decided that now it is our turn to host :)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Michael can teach you German. If you want, you can learn to work with wood, to sew and to cook. You can also do sports with us - we are active and like to do things. Also you can accompany us to all our activities e.g. when we go to the movies, theater or to a concert, do sports or travel...........etc. ;-) We will show you around and tell you about Austrian culture and way of life. You will surely taste some traditional Austrian dishes.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We are looking to find somebody who will babysit Madlene and practice French with us. It does not have to be a native speaker necessarily (=speaking French is with Evikka and Madlene, Michael speaks only German, English and Italian).
There is household work (approx. 1h/day) - including ironing, vacuum cleaning, helping us to clean the kitchen after the meals, doing the laundry.
What is also important for us is cultural exchange, we are looking for somebody who will speak with us French, participate in our life and the activities we do, and who is interested in Austrian culture, nature and life (and language ..if you want..).
This host offers a language exchange
We are looking for somebody who will speak French with us.
There is a room under the roof with a little office area which is a part of our appartement. You will share a bathroom with us. (Please see the pictures on our profile)
What else ...
You can learn with us German language. Also we will show you around and give you tipps as for places you can visit here - there are many interesting places around :
Innsbruck (20min with the train),
Lago di Garda (4h),
There are great train and bus connections direct in our town-so you can get everywhere with the public transportation.
We live in a valey - but there are mountains as well as lakes all around so if you like there are many activities you can do in winter : skiing (there are many attractive ski resorts minutes from our house), ice sports, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking, snowshoeing ) as well as in summer (hiking, climbing, jogging and nordic walking, horse riding, tennis and beachvolleyball, golf, paragliding, swimming, biking,....). If you like adventure there is AREA 47- which is the largest outdoor adventure park in Austria (20 minutes from our home).
There are as well very many wellness and spa resorts with saunas, Kneipp facilities and alpine streams (outdoors as well as indoors).
If you are intrerested rather in culture than sport - there is also a lot of what you can do: in Innsbruck there are museums, theaters, music concerts, galleries, sight-seeing, music and theater festivals, exhibitions, carnevals, readings, clubs...etc. You can visit many places in around here....all is very close in Austria (;-) it is a small country).
You can also taste many Tyrolean delicacies produced by local farmers.
