Description
Help with eco friendly forest garden and relax by a lake near Gothenburg 🌿🏡
Welcome to my cozy lakeside cabin just 30 min from Gothenburg!
You’ll stay in a peaceful countryside location nearby forest trails with possibilites to fish and pick berries. You will have access to a private beach, canoe and wood-fired sauna. There’s reliable Wi-Fi and a playful kitten living here too 🐾
Accommodation is either a guest room in the main house or a small guest cabin.
Please note that the guest cabin closed between novmeber and april.
💬 I speak English, Finnish & Swedish, if you want to practice.
🕒 I'm flexible with the length of your stay – long weekends or extended stays are both welcome!
🧑🤝🧑 I can host up to 3 people for shorter periods between May and August, 1 person for a bit longer stays.
A little bit about me:
I am an appreciator – of music, my grown-up daughters, blue skies, organic shapes, turquoise seas, green nature, furry animals (with a maximum of four legs!), open-mindedness, foresight, magnanimity, life skills, checklists, calm breathing, feelings, big ideas, the sun, downtime, big dinners, interesting discussions (not too much about sports, though), and the idea of me one day cracking the surf code…
And of course, I am an appreciator of MinervaLand – where I am free to grow things and build: like the ongoing greenhouse project, and maybe a treehouse or a sculpture park in the future? :)
A little about my weekly rhythm:
I work full-time, and a couple of days a week I work from home instead of going to the office. Most weekdays I’m busy during daytime, and every now and then I’m away overnight – but I’m usually around in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends.
This setup works best, if you enjoy a slower pace, and some time by yourself during the day. There are always garden tasks to take care of, but nothing too demanding while I’m not around. You’ll also have the cutest company – my cat Biffen!
I suggest we keep weekdays fairly relaxed, so we can focus on more fun or hands-on projects when I’m off in the evenings or on weekends, or a mix of this.
For longer stays, it’s good if you enjoy a bit of independence during weekdays and/or if you are a digital nomade/have online work on the side. That way we can make the most of our time together in the evenings and on weekends.
Come enjoy nature, help out, and experience the Swedish countryside!

During summer time you have access to a canoe and a small boat, if you wish to explore the nearby lakes and it's islands.
If you're interested in learning or practicing Swedish, I'm happy to help and support your language journey during your stay.
Help
🌿 About the help I need
I’m looking for friendly, practical helpers who enjoy being outdoors and don’t mind getting their hands a little dirty. Most of the work is about keeping up with the gardening and seasonal tasks in my start-up permaculture and forest garden.
Typical tasks can include:
-Weeding and general garden upkeep
-Leaf raking (especially in autumn – there are lots of leaves!)
-Firewood chopping or moving, if you enjoy heavier work
-Occasional projects, like helping build the greenhouse, grafitti project on the main buildning, decorate the entrance steps with moss art or other garden improvements
It’s very much about garden maintenance – sometimes light tasks like pulling weeds or tidying, and sometimes heavier work if you like being more physically active. There’s usually something to do for every energy level.

Accommodation
Between April and August, you’ll have the option to stay in a small, private guest cabin by the lake – perfect for 1–2 people. The cabin has electricity but no running water. There are simple outdoor washing facilities are available just outside. For shower, toilet, and kitchen access, you're always welcome to use the main house, within some 20 meters.
There is also a small guest room in the main house available for one person.
Sharing meals
I think food is a lovely way to connect, so when it works for both of us, we can cook and eat together – or take turns preparing dinner. I’m happy to share the kitchen and make it a cozy part of the day, but no pressure if you prefer to keep it simple which I also do at times.
Breakfast and lunch are usually self-served, but there will always be food available, based on what we’ve agreed on and your preferences. We’ll make sure the fridge is stocked so you feel at home and comfortable.
What else ...
I’ll also gladly share tips on things to do in the surrounding area or in Gothenburg – Sweden’s second-largest city – which offers a rich cultural scene with museums, music scenes, design, and more. I’ll tailor my recommendations to your interests, whether you’re into nature, art, food, or lwant to visit Scandinavia’s largest amusement park.
