Description
Ciao! I'm an Aussie living the slow life in Sicily. I run a community kitchen in a small, remote town called Mussomeli, and split my time between there and my olive farm in Torre Salsa, a wild, protected stretch of Sicilian coastline with walking trails that lead straight to the beach. I am looking for two friendly and reliable Workawayers to join me on my little farm near the Torre Salsa Nature Reserve on the southern coast of Sicily. I’m currently setting up a bell tent for guests who visit and building an outdoor kitchen, and I’d love a hand with both projects plus a bit of general help around the land.
I’ll provide three meals a day (always!), and you’ll also get the chance to meet many of the locals and friends from around the world who’ve made this part of Sicily their home. It’s a welcoming, creative, and supportive community.
You’ll also have time to explore the area, there are incredible hiking trails, deserted beaches, and hidden natural gems just minutes from the farm. This is a great opportunity if you're looking to slow down, connect with nature, and immerse yourself in Sicilian culture.
If this sounds like your kind of experience, I’d love to hear from you.Types of help and learning opportunities

Beyond the work, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, international community, share meals with locals and expats, and discover the real rhythm of Sicilian life. Whether you're interested in sustainable living, food culture, or just want to reset and be inspired — this is a space for growth, reflection, and connection. There is also a chance to learn and experience a community kitchen that I founded in Mussomeli.
Help
Setting up a bell tent: This includes some heavy lifting, moving and leveling large rocks and earth to create a stable base, clearing ground, and preparing the area
Outdoor kitchen installation: Supporting with painting and staining timber, oiling wood, helping to carry and arrange materials
General gardening and light maintenance: Watering, weeding, tidying up around the farm, and supporting simple projects that make the place beautiful and functionalLanguages

I am very open to Italian speakers being here as well so that I can learn more Italian.Accommodation
One caravan with access to a separate bathroom on the farm / one bedroom and an a separate attic bedroom.
What else ...
My farm is very remote and on the weekend I travel back to Mussomeli to run the community kitchen. I will look into getting an electric bike here so that you won't be stranded. I will also make sure that you have everything that you need here on the weekend when I am not here....
