Description
Our farms look is shaped by the buildings of the certified organic feed mill with 1000 years of history, which has been in our family for over 200 years. All of our ingredients are GMO free and have mainly been sourced locally. We produce a variety of feed mixtures and supply them to local farmers with our own vehicle fleet. In the mill are only permanently employed, local workers. We don’t need workaway helpers in the mill!
In addition to the mill, we are managing a mixed mountain forest according to the principles of sustainable forestry. We are also growing a variety of vegetables in our small subsistence vegetable garden. In the garden we are practicing bio-intensive vegetable gardening using the principles of Market Gardening, Regenerative Agriculture and applying vegetable carbon (Terra Preta). We are also using draft horses for soil cultivation and in the forest. This allows us to combine our ancestors’ knowledge with new and alternative cultivation concepts. In our opinion, the time has come to spread the word about these practices and we would love to share our knowledge with you!
Our family is simultaneously cosmopolitan and rural. We are happy to give interested and kind people a feeling for and insights into a sustainable interaction with nature that is based on mutual benefits.
Unser Hof wird geprägt von den Gebäuden des Mühlenbetriebs, der auf eine 1000-jährige Geschichte zurückblickt und seit 200 Jahren von unserer Familie geführt wird. In der Mühle stellen wir verschiedene Mischungen an Viehfutter für die regionale Landwirtschaft her. Wir arbeiten ohne Gentechnik und sind Biozertifiziert. Unsere Rohstoffe beziehen wir überwiegend aus der Region und verarbeiten diese weiter, um die Futtermittel dann mit dem eigenen Fuhrpark an die Kunden auszuliefern. In der Mühle arbeiten ausschließlich, fest angestellte Arbeiter aus der Umgebung! Hier benötigen wir keine Workaway-Helfer!
Neben dem Mühlenbetrieb bewirtschaften wir unseren Bergmischwald auf naturgemäße Weise und betreiben biologischen intensiv Gartenbau nach den Grundsätzen des Market Gardening, der Regenerativen Landwirtschaft und unter der Verwendung von Terra Preta-Substraten (Pflanzenkohle). Wir haben sowohl im Garten als auch im Wald Arbeitspferde im Einsatz und verbinden das Wissen unserer Vorfahren mit den neuen/alternativen Anbaukonzepten - die derzeit auf eine möglichst schnelle Verbreitung warten.
Wir sind eine weltoffene und doch traditionell bäuerlich geprägte Familie und freuen uns, netten Menschen sowohl ein Gespür als auch neue Einsichten in einen nachhaltigen und Nutzen bringenden Umgang mit der Natur zu geben.

In the garden you can get to know the methods of the traditional rural house garden of our grandmothers, along with brand new or rediscovered concepts regarding humus development, regenerative agriculture and terra preta (vegetable carbon).
In the forest we would be happy to share our experience with and knowledge on natural forest management, wood harvesting, and wood use.
In terms of culture, we especially love music. We like to play folk music - of course our own musical tradition from the Upper Bavarian mountains - but also from other parts of the world such as Scandinavia, Ireland, and South America. We would be very happy if you shared this interest in music and we could play some music together!
Our region has a rich heritage. Some of it goes back to ancient roots, as well as down-to-earth Christian / rural customs - which we are also willing to share with you!
In unserem Selbstversorger-Gemüsegarten könnt ihr sowohl die Methoden des traditionellen bäuerlichen Hausgartens unserer Großmütter als auch brandneue bzw. wiederentdeckte Konzepte kennenlernen (Humusaufbau, Regenerative Landwirtschaft und Terra Preta/Pflanzenkohle).
Im Wald können wir euch Erfahrungen und Wissen über naturgemäße Waldbewirtschaftung und Holzernte sowie Holznutzung vermitteln.
In kultureller Hinsicht lieben wir vor allem die Musik. Wir spielen gerne Volksmusik - natürlich unsere eigene Musiktradition aus den Oberbayerischen Bergen - gerne aber auch aus anderen Gegenden wie Skandinavien, Irland oder Südamerika. Ein Austausch in dieser Weise würde uns viel Freude bereiten.
Unsere Region hat ein teils auf uralte Wurzeln zurückreichendes reiches Erbe sowie auch ein bodenständiges christliches/bäuerliches Brauchtum - welches wir gerne teilen wollen.

- In forestry:
control of the forest, help with the wood harvest / thinning, planting young trees, making firewood
- In horticulture:
guided work in the garden (sowing, caring, harvesting)
- In agriculture:
looking after animals (feeding, mucking out the stables), helping with the hay harvest, maintaining / mowing fences
We are looking for people who are independently thinking, open-minded, goal-oriented and motivated to learn new things. Prior agricultural knowledge is not necessary but will be appreciated.

Selbstständiges Denken, eine abgeschlossene Handwerksausbildung, Motivation etwas lernen und leisten zu wollen und Vorwissen über die Landwirtschaft bzw. ein landwirtschaftlicher Hintergrund wären hilfreich.

We can offer two rooms with a private bathroom in our farmhouse and a large shared kitchen area.
Bei uns im Bauernhaus haben wir zwei Zimmer mit eigenem Bad und großer Gemeinschaftsküche anzubieten.

Our farm is conveniently located between Munich and the Bavarian Alps (Garmisch-Partenkirchen). The closest train station is Iffeldorf an den Osterseen. Our farm is located directly on one of the first mountains in the foothills of the Alps and has its own small lakes. Our region has both great nature (Walchensee, Loisach, Staffelsee, mountains) and culture (Murnau, Bad Tölz) to offer and is still not too touristy.
Wir liegen verkehrsgünstig zwischen München und den bayerischen Alpen (Garmisch- Partenkirchen). Der nächste Bahnhof ist Iffeldorf an den Osterseen. Unser Hof liegt direkt an einem der ersten Berge der Voralpen und hat selbst eigene kleine Seen mit dabei. Unsere Region hat sowohl grandiose Natur (Walchensee, Loisach, Staffelsee, Berge) als auch kulturell (Murnau, Bad Tölz) einiges zu bieten und ist trotzdem touristisch nicht allzu überlaufen.
In our neighboring mill (5 min walk) there is a music pub () where jam sessions take place every Thursday and concerts usually take place at the weekend.
We also offer Capoeira training and yoga at our farm . We have bicycles with which you can explore the area and the mountain forest.
In unserer Nachbarmühle (5 min Fußweg) gibt es ein Musikpub ( ), wo jeden Donnerstag Jam Session und am Wochenende meist Konzerte statt finden.
Ebenso machen jeweils einmal pro Woche Capoeira Training und Yoga bei uns am Hof. Wir haben Fahrräder mit denen man die Umgebung und den Bergwald erkunden kann.
