  Nestled in a vibrant alternative location in the Alpujarra mountains. With focus being on restoring water to the land, creating permaculture inspired gardens and food forests, natural structures.
  
  Will suit someone independent (or an independent couple) who has some knowledge and experience in permaculture and/or carpentry, and ability to independently work on a project.
  
  There is a community next door, and below in the valley the community of Beneficio. We are 25 minute drive from the town of Orgiva, and 5 minutes from the nearest small town.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  On the land there is an opportunity to learn Spanish through conversing with Spanish speakers, take part in community process, calm the nervous system through the healing energy of nature, take mountain walks, and join healing retreats with a neighbouring project. There is a lot going on in the area and many beautiful people around to connect with.
  
  There is a great opportunity to be part of designing a permaculture project, and expressing creativity in the process.

  Help

  Please note: I am looking for longer term helpers. For stays less than a month, please don't apply.
  
  We are looking particularly for help with designing and implementing permaculture principals on the land, including water storage and distribution, food forests, vegetables and herbs.
  
  Other projects could include cob building, building a treehouse, creating a barefoot beekeeping area, help with maintaining the water channels (acequias) in the mountain, cooking meals or babysitting/dog sitting, help around the house.
  
  As I am travelling quite a lot, I'm looking for someone who can stay on the land and take care of it (and my dog) while I travel.
  
  There is an opportunity to get involved in the design process... the land is newly bought and at present it is mostly an olive plantation.

  I speak English, some Spanish and some French, and a small amount of German.

  Accommodation

  You will have a (new) 5 metre Mongolian yurt, and outdoor facilities (shower, compost toilets), all newly built. At the moment there is no electricity, only a solar phone charger, so will not suit someone who needs to work on a laptop. There is a possibility to occasionally charge laptops and other items in my house, but only for occasional use.
  
  For longer term helpers it's possible you will be asked to relocate to a 4m tipi during the warmer summer months.

  What else ...

  The community is situated above the famous alternative community Beneficio, and close to the towns of Orgiva and Lanjaron. Orgiva is the hub of a big alternative scene, with opportunities to take part in many workshops and gatherings, such as ecstatic dance, biodanza, drumming circles, bhajan singing circles, spoon carving, felting, yoga classes, meditations, to give just a taste.
  There is a big focus on healing in the area and there are also many healing workshops and therapies on offer including many types of massage, acupuncture, homeopathy, family constellations, to name just a few.
  As well as this there are artisanal markets, organic food shops, crystal shops, alternative clothing shops...
  
  Our project would suit someone seeking to live from a heart space, someone interested in devotional practices, spiritual practice, healing, community, nature, yoga, meditation, singing....
