  • Description

    Description

We are a young non-profit organization (NGO) - since 2015, dealing with educational programmes for children with ages between 6 and 12 years old. Most of the children are coming from the German School in Bucharest. Our main scope is to guide them and supervise them while doing their homework, make them understand the curricula from the school, prepare them for tests, help them with different projects. Apart of all these, we provide for them the possibility to do a lot of other cognitive activities, as each one of them can choose dancing, painting, playing an instrument, NLP classes, foreign language classes, etc.
We have young and dedicated teachers who teach at school the whole curricula in German and speak the language very well.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Dealing with children is always a challenge and making them be respectful while still considering you as their friend is even a bigger challenge. You will learn to adapt to the rhythm of each one of them in order to fulfill their needs.
You will have the opportunity to learn a lot of things about our country, our lifestyle, our gastronomy, our language.
If you intend to pursue a career in pedagogy, this would be the right place to come, as it would be like an internship abroad. You will be part of a team of Romanian teachers and part of a bigger family which we like us to consider. Because this is what we are in fact: a big family, where we laugh a lot, we play, we learn to respect each other, we fight and forgive.

    Help

Although the organization is very well structured, we feel the need of a native German speaker whose input would be very valuable and appreciated by the children from the German school, in terms of conversation. They need to improve the pronunciation and to learn the German traditions from a real native speaker (be it German or Austrian). So we search for a young native speaker who loves the children and is willing to share with them what he/she knows best. Of course, a little help with homework would be good also. if you have a special talent such as painting, singing, dancing, you can be responsible for that activity.
We have to mention that the volunteer will help us as assistant of the main teachers.
You will have the opportunity to share the traditions from your country regarding Christmas holidays, Easter, Karnaval, etc.
The schedule would be mainly in the afternoon, as the kids are coming to us after school hours (from 13:00 to 17:00).

The accommodation will be in the same building with the school, at the first floor. It is a room, having its own bathroom, own entrance. There is also a fully equipped kitchen in the school, that can be used.
Lunch will be assured by a catering company that we use to provide the meal for the children. For breakfast and dinner, we will provide the food to be prepared if needed in our kitchen or the equivalent money to buy what is necessary in order to cover all meals.

The school is located 50 m away from the German School, which is in the very center of Bucharest, so very close to the main points of interest in the city. The public transport is very accessible (metro station, buses).
During the week-end and during holidays the classes are off, so you have a lot of time to explore the city or the city surroundings.
