    Description

Hello everyone!! We are a Polish-Spanish family. There are four of us Adán, Asia, Uma and our doggy Imán. We live in El Torno (Cádiz), Spain. Three years ago, we bought a piece of land, a 2200 m allotment, in a deeply abandoned condition and with poor soil because of local farming techniques. Nowadays, we start to have something beautiful there: many vegetables, fruits, trees, flowers and insects passing by. We also have four hens and some birds nesting in the trees. We don´t use any chemical stuff and we investigate new permaculture techniques like KNf and Jadam solutions. Also, we are Fukuoka lovers. We are trying to enrich the soil while respecting the environment. Last year we built a greenhouse 100 % with recycled material and we have started a bio construction of a house. Why we offer the "workawayers" to visit us? Before we settled in El Torno we had travelled a lot. Now we have more sedentary life so for us meeting people from around the world and sharing with them is a kind of travel too.

First of all, we are really flexible and we don´t expect you to work 3-4 hours per day or so. We are looking for people to share with us our daily time, sometimes we will work or somedays we will have nothing to do. People with personal ideas and initiative are very welcome. We appreciate any help and commitement, on the other hand it is important to us that if you just need some free days, you feel free to tell us. It´s ok. You give us what you can :-)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We can offer you our allotment to stay in your van, camper, tent, etc... The point is that we are living in a small village so we suggest you have your own transport, although there are some bus connections with Jerez de la Frontera. In our allotment we have a dry toillet and solar shower but ocasionally you can come to our house (which is about 10 min walk from the allotment) if you need to do the laundry or use other facilities or internet.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We suggest you have your own transport as our village is 18 km away from Jerez de la Frontera. But there are some bus connections too. In Jerez there are many things to see and experience (good food, good wine, flamenco, music festivals, etc...)
El Torno is situated 5 km from the two other villages: Torrecera (really tasty wine and local cheese and good restaurant to eat) and la Barca de la Florida.
60 kmto Cádiz capital city (train from Jerez)
25 km to the nearest beach (Puerto de Santa Maria)
100 km to Seville (train from Jerez)
Around 100 km to Tarifa the paradise of windsurfing and kitesurfing.
