Description
I live very close to the Canal Du Midi in a town called Trebes, which is 10 minutes drive from the beautiful, historic town of Carcassonne.
Trebes is a lively town with a small Sunday market on the bank of the Canal, and a monthly flea market in the summer. There are several bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walking distance.
Although i have a garden, I still take my 2 friendly dogs for a walk twice a day along the banks of the canal, and through the vineyards.
I enjoy cooking, and doing DIY around the property.
I am Scottish, and have been living in France full time for the last year.
I love the location, which is 45 minutes to the beach, or an hour and a half to the ski stations in the Pyrenees.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
English is my first language, and I'm happy to help non English Speakers learn the language. I speak French, not fluently, but fortunately I am quite good at charades.
I am a member of the AVF in Carcassonne, an organisation which has many weekly activities, such as walking, card playing, English and French workshops, crafting, yoga. Most monthls there is an early evening social event, that I can take guests to. Its a great place to meet new people of all nationalities.
Help
I have a garden and would appreciate help maintaining it.
Help around the house would also be great.
I would like to improve my french, and learn more about French customs.

I have a spare bedroom with a king size bed. It's a large room and could fit a single bed if required.
I would be happy to provide 3 meals per day.
What else ...
There a local bus to Carcassonne, which takes approximately 30 minutes. It also goes to Salvaza, where the airport is located, and the stop is a 5 minute walk from the terminal.
The nearest train station is in Carcassonne, and on the first weekend of every month tickets can be bought online for 1€ to go to Toulouse, Narbonne, etc. on certain trains.
Carcassonne is a fascinating place to visit. The medieval Cité is a Unesco World Hertiage Site, with over 3 M visitors per annum. The bastide is also a great place to spend time, with lots of boutiques, artisan shops, restaurants and bars.
There are many beautiful villages within an hour of Carcassonne, that can be visited by bus.
In Trebes there are restaurants along the banks of the canal, where you can relax and enjoy watching the boats go by,
