    Description

Hello, I live in a lovely, rural location close to the sea in the N-E of Ireland.

I am a self-employed woman running a livery business and a large garden.

In the summer months, I occasionally open my home to visitors and small groups interested in Irish gardens and historic architecture.

I also host occasional events, such as open days, music festivals and parties.

I am currently employ a couple of professionals on my farm, but would love some extra help with jobs such as painting, tidying and general gardening tasks, during the busy periods of the summer.

My home is situated in the Boyne Valley in Co Louth, about 50 mns from Dublin by train and Dublin airport.
We are less than 4km from a local town, on a country bus route, and have easy access to many interesting visitor attractions located in the Boyne Valley, including Newgrange, Melifont Abbey, Monasterboice, Trim and Slane Castle.

I am passionate about history and my family home and have a love of nature and easy going gardening, which thrives on a mixture of chaos and picturesque intervention.

  • Help

    Help

I would like help over the period of a camping and music festival taking place mid September.

This help would involve cleaning up in the camping field after the festival is over. Litter picking and bagging is essential to make the place look beautiful gain!

Schedule permitting, I may organise for you to do 3 hours/day in my garden with general tasks such as weeding, raking and hedge trimming and using a battery strimmer to cut rough areas.

Experience with a petrol strimmer and ride on lawn mower is also useful.

Outside paintwork on doors and windows of my yard buildings and livery stables sometimes need attention with preparation and paint.

I would like a workaway-er to be flexible and willing to try new things who can go with the flow, who is punctual, dependable and self-reliant; interested in history and culture; country life, animals and gardens.

Some days will be busier than others so you will have plenty of time off to explore and I will always let you know in advance what is planned and what you will be expected to do to help. I am happy to be flexible if you need time off to travel to see things.

I have 2 dogs who also would love to meet you and sometimes needs a pet minder :-)
    I plan to pay €10/hr for a 3-4 hour working day/ 5 days/week. A 30 minute break half way through morning.
    Duration 3-4 weeks. TBC.
