    Description

    Hi there!

We are Karolien and Jordi, a cheerful couple in our 30s from Belgium, now living in the beautiful, rural Limousin region of France. Together with our enthusiastic 8-year-old twins (a boy and a girl), we enjoy the serene nature that surrounds us every day and the real French life on the countryside.

Are you the one who can help our children to learn English or help improve all of our French? Do you want to help us out in our garden or help renovate our old farmhouse? Then we warmly invite you to join us in our home in Limousin. We look forward to meeting you and having a fantastic time together!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love connecting with people with different backgrounds than us. We like to learn from other cultures.

We are both makers who love creativity. Karolien is a professional jewelry artist and also worked as a vegetable-garden-teacher in schools. Jordi is an electrician and loves to cook.
Currently, we're renovating our old stone house and barns. Doing a lot of repointing of the old walls for example.

Additionally, we continue to make exciting plans for our permaculture garden.
We often go berry picking and make jam or do other activities like that.

As nature lovers, we love spending time outdoors, and we warmly welcome someone who shares this passion.
During summer, we often go to some of the lakes nearby to swim and rest at the beach.

We also love visiting medieval towns/cities in the region, you're welcome to join us on our trips if you'd like.

    We are a board-playing-family 🙃

We are always learning new skills and my (Karolien) greatest passion is to share what I've learned with others.
If there are specific skills you'd like to learn, feel free to ask us if that's something we could teach you while you're staying with us.

    Help

We are looking for a kind, fun and motivated Workaway volunteer who can help us around while we are creating our homestead.
In the upcoming months we are:
    -planting trees and shrubs
-building the structure for a vegetable garden
    -removing brambles evenrywhere
    -re-pointing old stone walls (exterieur)
-do the interior walls with chaux-chanvre (lime-hemp?) in one of the barns
    - do flooring in that barn

We want to improve our French
We speak Dutch (Flemish) at home, Jordi and I speak basic French and fluent English, so communication will not be an issue!
