    Description

Hello, we are Rino and Marina, a Swiss couple, who have moved to Colombia to realize our dream. After traveling South America on two motorcycles for over three years, we have settled down in Colombia. Here we want to offer other travelers and globetrotters a place to park their motorhome or pitch their tent. We are just starting our project and there is a lot to do. We have 4 hectares of land where there is not only space for travelers, but where you can find many fruit trees, where we are planting a lot of veggies and where you can swim in a natural stream. We live in Moniquirá, a small town 4 hours north of Bogotá and only 1 hour from Villa de Leyva. We have done many workaway jobs on our 3-year journey and know the potential of what great things can be created when many creative people come together. We love to share and we would love to integrate you into our project and create something great with you. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome and maybe you even have a special talent that you can contribute. In addition to creating new things, we love nature and especially the tranquility of nature, we like to visit the waterfalls that are nearby, and of course you are invited to join us. We also like to play games, cook together and try out new things.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As we have traveled full-time for over three years, we can tell and pass on a lot, and our guests always have good stories and travel tips to share. We can teach you a lot about life here, although of course we are not Colombians and we will always be influenced by our home country of Switzerland. Moniquirá is a very typical place for Colombia and at the weekly market you will discover many fruits and vegetables to try. As we are both trained carpenters, we can teach you a lot about construction projects.

As we are just starting, there are a lot of different things that need to be done. At the moment we are setting up a campsite. We need help mostly in smaller projects, like some landscaping, making some parts nice, planting trees, making garden beds, rebuild an old chicken coop and many small things more. In the future we will be building an small outdoor kitchen and common area as a wooden structure. We are both trained carpenters and we can teach you a lot about wooden construction. There are many smaller and larger projects to be done to beautify the place and make it more usable. Planting and maintaining vegetable beds is also a constant task, and mowing grass is also a task that needs to be done constantly. In addition, creative people who can contribute to the beautification are very welcome. We often work in a team, especially on the larger projects, but we still expect a great deal of independence and responsibility. Almost all of the work is physically demanding and requires a certain level of fitness. We are also looking for people who enjoy creating something and who like to get their hands dirty. If you are a skilled craftsman and could support us with your experience, we would be extremely happy to welcome you.
