Description
Dear workaweyers,
having had troubles with a couple of you (who decided to withdraw last minute, after having already signed an agreement with us) we've been forced to manage the family on our own and for the moment we'd like to keep it this way. We are not deleting the post, since we're still open to think about hosting some of you, in September maybe.
Here you can have all the info about us:
Our twins - Alvise e Aurora - are 22 months old (born on July 25th, 2023) and they’re growing fast!
They're attending the "asilo nido" and are very happy about it. Usually we bring them there around 8:30/9:00 in the morning and pick them up around 16:00. I do home office from 9:30 to 14:30.
I need help in the morning for preparing the twins and bring them both to school (7:30-9;00), then to manage them in the afternoon (16:00-19:30) of the working days, past "asilo nido" and until dinner when the father comes back home. Alvise e Aurora have been very healthy and skipped school a few times until now. But obviously a fever or a flu could happen. In this case, I'm looking for a flexible person that could assist the kid/s during the morning (we'll agree on a fair fee for that), giving me the chance to work. By the way, as mentioned I work from home and can be of assistance, with the exception of scheduled calls.
Our afternoons are variable: we can stay home and play or rest (they are quite tired after school), or go out and reach some play parks around the corner or go visiting the grandparents or attending some
activities (e.g. laboratories of various types) or, from mid-May on, go to the beach! Twins' Venetian granparents have a nice "capanna" on the first row of capannas at the famous "Des bains" in Lido.
What are we looking for and what can we offer?
We're looking for someone who loves baby and has a proven experience with them, who can help me for the indicated schedule.
There is a room for you and a private bathroom right outside the room's door.
We live in Venice. I mean, real Venice historical center. The area is called Sant’Elena and is at the far est end of the island, just one boat stop from the beaches, where we can easily go for some fun with the kids. The area is super green, with big trees and a couple of baby parks. There are many children, and dogs, and nice old people here. It's quiet, but at the same time alive, with some bars and restaurants! And in 15 minutes by boat you’re in San Marco and the city centre (30 min by walking). If you’r interested in the Biennale (opening at the beginning of May), we’re two minutes walking from it.
In case you’re interested, I’d like to ask you to meet on Zoom or similar app, to get to know each other a bit before mutually decide if we’re ok with trying this adventure together!
We're thinking about a three months period.
A bit of knowledge of Italian is a plus.

Venice is a magical place! Besides all the historical sites and the beauty of the city itself (we live in the historic part of the city, on the main island, close to the Giardini della Biennale), the city is full of students and offers a great opportunity to meet other people from all over Italy and all over the world. Venice is unique and so is its food, wine, typical "bacari" (like little restaurants) and so on...

Help
The idea is to have some help in managing the kids, both at home and outside (like in the nice park close to the apartment or for some small tours, like visiting my parents in Tuscany), in order to have some time for me (a shower, going to the supermarket, house cleaning, etc.)

We live in a quite big apartment (120 sqm) in the historic part of Venice. Traveller will have her/his own room and will share meals with me and the kids (and my partner when he'll be there).
What else ...
Our apartment is located 3 minutes walking from the boat station (Venice public transport is made of "vaporetti", boats), that connects our neighborhood to the rest of Venice (incl. train and bus station) and to the Lido (where the beaches are located and where the international film fest is held). I work for museums and, if of interest, can suggest many nice places where to go. Should it interest the traveller, my partner is a chess master and president of the Venice chess association.

Barbara is a very sweet and welcoming person, her kids are so cute and EASY going I’ve ever seen. I enjoyed my stay here very much, the flat is very large, comfortable with a little garden inside in the green area of Venice.
This is definitely a good experience for everybody, cultural exchange is provided.
