    Description

Hi there, I'm Alisson and I live in a charming small town in the south of Brazil called Ilhota. Even though it's a small town, it's conveniently located close to popular tourist destinations such as Blumenau, Balneário Camboriú, Itajaí, and the Beto Carrero amusement park.

As someone who has been a CouchSurfing host for over 10 years, I'm excited to join Workaway as a host as well. Workawayers who stay with me will have the opportunity to keep my mom company, help with meal preparation and basic housekeeping tasks. The help is straightforward and easy, and mostly involves having someone around as my mom loves having international company. You won't need to help more than 2-3 hours a day, leaving plenty of time for day trips to the surrounding cities.

Ilhota is a calm and lovely village where you can immerse yourself in Brazilian culture and practice your Portuguese with a native speaker. I'm looking forward to hosting you and showing you the beauty of my hometown!

My mom is a very positive, outgoing and fun person to be around with. I visit her everyday, but since I also have to work it's always nice when we have hosts to keep her some company and help her around the house with some cooking and cleaning. The tasks are pretty much simple household caring and cleaning, you won't need to help for longer than 2-3h a day. So you can plan trips to the nearby towns or just relax in the village. Precisely the tasks are: cooking meals (better if they are typical from your country), cleaning the kitchen after words (we have a dishwasher tough), sweeping and moping the floor every other day, keep her company. Also we ask visitors to help a bit with their own food. We will not demand you anything specific but, it's just a common sense thinking that since my mom is only one person and you come as a couple or a family of three it's not a fair trade for her to feed everyone by herself. She's very generous and will want you to be well fed, so all I'm telling you here is just to make the best experience for everyone.
We also have a wall of our garage which is being painted by visitors where each leaves their painting and will soon turn into a nice piece of art.

A bigger campervan or motor home will have to park on the street, but there's no worries since the town is very safe and theres a security company that rents the downstars area, so they have security 24/7. A smaller car can park in the garage.
