    About the Host:

    Almost two years in the making and the dream is alive and kicking...

    Finally fulfilling my dream of opening up my guesthouse by the beach and sharing my positive experience with my guests. My guesthouse/hostel/hotel is in Weligama across the road from the main surf point where you can enjoy year-round surf conditions suitable for learners, beginners and intermediate.

    I am an avid SUP surfer and the location of the house so close to the surf point means I, my guests, and you, can enjoy a lot of in-water time during your breaks.

    About the Guesthouse:

    It consists of rooms offering single, double and bunk beds, a kitchen. There are lots of common space choices as the indoor living room is spacious as well as a huge garden space with mango and coconut trees.

    Our priority is to employ local staff and build their capacity within the hospitality industry. We currently employ around 13-15 national staff within the season covering roles in housekeeping, kitchen, restaurant, reception and accounting/bookkeeping, we also regularly outsource laborers for carpentry, plumbing, artists to support the local community. Your role as a volunteer is to support and pass on knowledge and expertise to the existing staff.

    What we are looking for (in order of priority of need);

    *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️Artists, musicians, let us know any ideas that you have that could work for our place and we might have a spot for you.

    *️️️️️️️️️Social Media & Events Management; takeover and develop a strong online presence, organize daily/weekly/monthly activities/events and network/PR.

    *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️Organizational Freaks (longterm); well within our first year of operation and organization is key to keep the ball rolling. Must love themselves, life and people and provide a positive experience and influence at all times.

    *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️Carpentry/Outdoors/Gardening Creative DIY skills; needed from July to November. Must be passionate about creating, have design background and/or experience as they will prepare projects from start to finish. Projects vary from small to large, simple to complex. Will be provided assisting hands when needed. Must be clean, tidy and meticulous.

    THE DEAL: 25 hours of help a week (divided in 5 days with 2 days off) in exchange for accommodation, 2 meals per day (all day access to kitchen), free wifi, free drinking water and you can use some of our equipment when available (boards, bikes, yoga mats).

    We operate a drug-free environment, drug usage on the premises by any volunteer will not be tolerated and will result in their immediate dismissal.

    Our space provides a homey, good vibes atmosphere, treat it as you would your home by being responsible, clean, tidy, considerate, safe, caring and practice situational awareness at all times. Priority is always for the guests. Mutual trust and respect are key to reaching a positively enriching memorable experience and relationship.

    Will share some recipes from my home country that you love. Have a wealth of knowledge in diving to share with you as I taught and managed diving schools and liveaboards for almost 20 years.
    We will be making and sharing food between each other and with the guests as we offer a common kitchen, cooking and baking skills are a plus.
    Sri Lanka is one of the most beautiful and resourceful countries/islands in the world, you will have it as your playground for cultural, spiritual and adventure playground.

    - Multitasking people with an eye for detail and with some hospitality experience.
    - Help build a database of quality media footage, video/photo and take on social media marketing.
    - Events manager to take care of the weekly events program.
    All our workawayers need to have the ability to be multitasking, openminded and provide useful information for the guests adding an overall positive colorful vibe around the guesthouse is a plus.
