    Description

👋 Hi! We are a lively family of four — a little messy but full of energy!
We are Alice (46), Salvo (46), Paolo (11) and Andrea (7), and we live in Trapani, right in the city center, where everything is within walking distance.

Trapani is a charming seaside town in western Sicily, famous for its beautiful coastline, historic old town, and delicious food. From here, it’s easy to explore stunning places like the Egadi Islands, Erice, and the salt pans.

Alice works at the University of Palermo and often travels, while Salvo works in Rome and is away about two days a week. The kids go to school, play sports and have their activities… so yes, our life is happy but definitely a bit chaotic! 😅

In our free time we love going out, especially on weekends, enjoying walks and spending time with friends.

    ✨ What we offer
You will have your own little apartment just 5 minutes’ walk from our home, where you can sleep and have breakfast peacefully. During the day and evenings, you’ll share life with us as part of the family. Sometimes we are away for work during the day, but when we’re home we love spending time together.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love the idea of welcoming people from different countries and sharing our everyday life. We’re a warm and sociable family: in our free time we often go out, especially on weekends, to take walks, meet friends, spend time with our relatives, or explore new places around Trapani. Of course, we’d love to have our guest join us in these moments!

Staying with us is a nice way to get a taste of Sicilian culture, enjoy our food, and experience the local lifestyle. We’ll be happy to share some Italian words and expressions, tell you fun stories about our traditions, and maybe cook together some typical Sicilian recipes.

At the same time, we’re excited to practice our English and learn more about your culture, your habits, and the things you’re passionate about.

    ✨ What we’re looking for
We’d like to experience cultural exchange mainly to practice English. We’d love our guest to feel like family and:

    occasionally help with the kids,

    cook together,

give a hand with small household tasks.

We’re curious to meet new people, laugh together, and learn from everyday life!

If you enjoy spending time with children, cooking, and don’t mind a bit of “Italian chaos,” then you’ll fit right in 😉

This host offers a language exchange
At home we speak Italian as our native language. Alice and Salvo also know some English (intermediate level) and we’d love to improve it with the help of our guest. The kids study English at school and are very curious to learn new words through games and everyday life. We’ll also be happy to teach you some Italian and help you practice if you’re interested!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We offer our guest a small private apartment just 5 minutes’ walk from our home. It’s a clean, safe, and cozy space where you can sleep and enjoy breakfast in peace. The apartment is independent, so you’ll have your own privacy, but during the day and evenings we’d love to share family life together at our home.

Our house is spacious and bright, and it will also be at your disposal during the day.

As for meals, breakfast will be available in your apartment, while for lunch and dinner you’ll join us: we enjoy cooking and eating together when we’re at home. Sometimes, due to work, we might not be around during the day, but we’ll always make sure meals are organized and that we spend time together. If we go out with friends, you can choose whether to join us or stay home and have dinner there.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Trapani is a very walkable town: the center is easy to explore on foot and there are public transport options to get around the area. From the port you can take ferries or hydrofoils to the Egadi Islands, and by bus or car you can easily reach places like Erice, the salt pans, Marsala, and many other beautiful spots.

In your free time you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore the surroundings, relax at the beach, or go on excursions.

At home we don’t have strict rules — we just expect mutual respect, collaboration, and a friendly spirit of sharing. Our home is pretty lively (two kids bring lots of energy and movement 😅), so you should be ready to embrace a bit of chaos.
