    Description

    Hi,

Good friends of mine are farmers and I have often 'hosted' their WorkAwayers in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan when the workers/travellers first arrive or leave the farm. I've really enjoyed meeting people, of all ages, from Japan, Germany, France, Mexico, Korea and many other parts of Canada!

I live in a cute, comfortable house that is walking distance to downtown Saskatoon, and a block away from a bus stop. My place is one block from a beautiful park that runs along the South Saskatchewan River, and which is filled with trails, a skatepark, a community garden, an outdoor pool, and clubs devoted to tennis, badminton, rowing, canoeing and kayaking.

I live with two interesting black cats and a friendly black dog. I enjoy gardening in my backyard, front yard, in pots on the street and at my community garden close by. I enjoy fixing things up in my old (107year-old) house.

I'm an active community member and educator, and I really do enjoy people. If you'd like to practice your English language skills, learn a bit about gardening, and/or stretch your handy-person muscles, you'd enjoy yourself here. I've been a WorkAwayer myself and I know what makes it fun and rewarding.

I'm looking for someone to care for my house and adored pets this upcoming winter (2020-2012). I would like to pursue a WorkAway elsewhere while you are here. We could have an 'overlap' time for orientation. If you'd like free rent in exchange for minor duties, please contact me. Thanks!

I live close to a beautiful old independent movie theatre, shops, restaurants, two great libraries, bus transportation, and a beautiful park with trails, canoe, kayak, tennis, badminton, outdoor pool, skateboard park, and community garden. My neighbours are great, and Saskatoon is generally a safe city. If you care for my house and pets while I am away, you are welcome to use my truck which has 4-wheel drive.

A camper van or car or truck could park on the road in front of my house. In the winter I could supply an extension cord to keep the battery warm.

I have two cats, and I know one of them would NOT want another cat on her territory. I do have a dog, and she is good with other dogs. If you stayed for a week or so, I am sure she could adapt to having a visitor in the house. Other dogs have stayed here before.
