Description
I live in Blyth, Ontario with my two sons (7 and 10 years). I have a degree in developmental psychology and work from home doing data and research. My job allows me to have a flexible schedule, but it also means a lot of work so it would be great to have a little help. I have been away from workaway for a few years now and am just reactivating my account. When I did do workaway I did it for many years and it was an amazing experience.
I grew up here in Blyth and just moved back 2 years ago. The town is well known for it's Theatre, and for the carbon neutral brewery (Cowbell) that was built here about 5 years ago. While this is quite a small town, we live about a 20 minute drive from Goderich which is a bigger town with all the amenities and beautiful beaches on Lake Huron. We also live about an hour from 2 large cities - Kitchener-Waterloo and London. We spend a lot of time outdoors, especially in the summer. The main tasks I need help with would include playing with kids, cleaning, and general help around the house.
I am a Canadian citizen but am also an Austrian citizen and speak German as my first language. I would really appreciate someone who also speaks German that could give my sons some more exposure to the German language.Types of help and learning opportunities

Blyth is a very close community where everyone knows each other. You would get first hand experience of small town living in Southwestern Ontario. There are lots of outdoor activities nearby, the G2G trail is close by for hiking, there are arenas for skating and swimming, and beaches and shops in nearby towns. Having been born in Austria and raised in Canada you get the best of both cultures.

Help
My job does allow some flexibility in schedule. In the summer I will have some time off so the schedule would change from week to week. My children are in school most days so most of the help I would need is in the afternoon/early evening. Helping clean the house, playing with the kids when they get home from school while I finish up work, and then help cooking and cleaning up after dinner. You would have most of the day off and would have all weekends off. On some weekends we would also be happy to take you to towns or cities near by and show you some of Southwestern Ontario.
Potential schedule (but flexible) - we are awake and getting ready by 6am, the kids get on the bus at 8:30am. I don't really need much help in the morning. Around 3pm I would need someone to start getting dinner ready. The kids get off the bus at 3:30pm. They would play with the kids till 4:30 or 5:00pm. At some point we would eat dinner. After dinner they would do the dishes and clean up. I'm usually off with the kids to activities most nights and then the kids go to bed between 7 and 8pm. In addition to dinner/cleanup and playing with the kids daily it would be great if the house could get cleaned once a week (completely flexible on when that would occur). So daily most help is needed from 3pm to 6pm and then cleaning at some point throughout the week.Languages spoken

Karin and Roland are amazing hosts, you're going to appreciate the pool, the comfy room and of course Karin's food so far!
There is a plenty of stuff to do in this area, for example a visit to Toronto or to the Niagara falls.
Highly recommended :)
I wish you all the best with the new baby!
I was the first workawayer they hosted.
