    Description

We are Thérèse and Henk from the Netherlands, living in Vila Nova da Baronia, Portugal, just 25 minutes from the beautiful historic city of Évora.

We would love to welcome Workawayers during January and February to help us with land maintenance and pruning our trees. The help is mostly outdoors, and we always try to make it enjoyable — good company, good food, and time to share experiences.

We really enjoy meeting new people and learning about other cultures. For us, Workaway is not only about getting help, but about connection and exchange — sharing stories, ideas, and laughter.

Our goal is to make sure you feel completely at home during your stay with us. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the area, relax, and experience the peaceful Portuguese countryside.

We look forward to meeting you!

    Warm greetings,
    Thérèse & Henk

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Life here in Vila Nova da Baronia is calm and simple, and we love sharing that with others. We’ve been living in Portugal for a while now and enjoy mixing a bit of Dutch spirit with the relaxed Portuguese way of life.

We like to cook and eat together — sometimes local Portuguese comfort food, sometimes Dutch ore international dishes with ingredients from the market or our garden. Mealtimes are always a good moment to chat, laugh, and exchange stories about our different backgrounds and experiences.

You can practice your English or Dutch, pick up some Portuguese, and get to know our friendly neighbours and local traditions.

For us, cultural exchange is really about connection — sharing everyday life, learning from each other, and creating nice memories together
