  • Description

Hi workawayer! Are you a certified yoga teacher & do you also enjoy hiking in the mountains? Then this volunteer opportunity is right for you!

This is a lovely eco-friendly lodge deep in the green Andes Mountains of Ecuador and right on the famous Quilotoa Loop! A great place for nature lovers & hikers! Our lodge is situated in the tiny indigenous village of Isinlivi – we have a tranquil, happy and friendly atmosphere at our place. Our location is perfect to hike the Quilotoa Loop, visit non-touristy local markets, the local cheese factory and enjoy incredible mountain views.

Our guests come from all over the world, we have backpackers and also clients who enjoy a bit more comfort…they all want the same: experience the culture & hike the Andes! We try to create a warm atmosphere for our guests & make them feel at home. We currently have a dormitory, rooms with shared bathroom, and we have also have Garden Cottages with private bathroom for the guests who like more comfort. From all spots at the lodge, there are great mountain views.

We also have lamas, a vegetable garden, a cat and a dog. We even have a SPA area with jacuzi & sauna for an ultimate mountain escape! And of course…we have a beautiful yoga studio with mountain view!

We offer our guests 2 yoga classes per day. One soft smooth yoga session in the afternoon after guests have hikes the mountains, and a more vigorous and energetic yoga session in the morning. In between classes, the volunteer helps with guests, nothing very complicated! You will be working together with our lovely team of locals – good for your Spanish!
Regular tasks for our volunteers are: help with check-in/check-out of guests, talking to guests to make sure they are happy, general customer service, keep track of easy accounts, give out information about the surrounding area and the hikes and activities.

Our volunteers socialize a lot with the guests and often make great friends!

If possible, we would also appreciate your help taking care of our animals – especially our Saint Bernard dog Baloo would love to hike the mountains with you!

We are looking for a qualified yoga teacher and a volunteer with good sense for customer service, someone positive and happy! Our volunteers spend much of their time chatting to our guests, keeping them company and sharing travel stories. It's like receiving friends over for dinner every night, so we are looking for volunteers who enjoy that!
Of course, in between your daily tasks you´ll have enough time to hike the beautiful mountains or just relax and enjoy the views!

Minimum commitment= 4 weeks! We also ask our volunteers to hike the Quilotoa Loop before starting their volunteer experience!

Does this sound like it’s something you can be good at – let us know!
