Description
My name is Sarah and my husband and I with our 2 young daughters live on a farm in the rolling hills of south Gippsland. We are first generation farmers and learning as we go. We farm using biodynamic principles and manage cows, sheep, chickens and ducks along with an orchard and growing all of our own vegetables. We are always seeking to work with nature whilst also allowing ourselves to live off the land. We have been on this adventure for 5 years now and whilst we have learnt ALOT, there is still so much more to go!
We love south Gippsland because its green and wet and has beautiful beaches and places to explore. It has great potential to provide local food to its communites with amazing soil and has an emerging young population.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We would love to share a meal each day and even take turns cooking. We are both chefs and love food! Declan works at an alternative school that hosts great little festivals depending when you come. We love to go camping and can share knowledge and go to spots in the area. We've learnt alot about animal husbandry and can teach you about market gardening and growing food year round. There are plenty of great hiking and biking trails and beaches to visit and plenty of opportunities to tag along with us on our adventures when we have days off the farm.

Accommodation
We have a glorious little pop up sunwagon caravan that will be your main accomodation and includes 2 double beds, a couch and storage. We have a large outdoor undercover area that can be used for general relaxation and also outdoor eating. You will have power in the caravan for kettles and chargers etc.
Our toilet is just before the main entrance of the house and is the only one so at this stage will be shared. The bathroom with shower in the main part of the house is again shared and since it is close to our babies bedrooms we will work out a roster for use.
We would love to provide you with 3 meals per day in exchange for your work and like the idea of sharing the cooking. Perhaps one or two meals per week cooked by you. What else ...
We would love to show you our local national parks and beaches if you want some companionship on adventures! Public transport is pretty minimal out here though trains go frequently to melbourne and are a 25 minute drive away from our place should you wish to visit the city on your free days. We go to melbourne occassionally but not alot. Depending when your here theres many many things to do for nature lovers. We also have bikes you could borrow.
Please note that we dont smoke, and if you do it would need to be far away from and out of sight of our children.A little more information
