We are remodeling an existing place, making it a pleasant environment for guests and volunteers.
Some areas are still under construction, but most rooms, the rooftop terrace and our little cafe are ready for our clients.
We are looking for volunteers who can help us in different areas, including reception, tour desk, social media, web design, cooking for volunteers, construction, general maintenance, cleaning, teaching English/French and currently also a ghostwriter to help with a children's book.
We employ 4 local people that are helping with cleaning, kitchen, reception, and maintenance. Volunteers work together with them.

You'll help with a local team that is happy to share their culture and language with you. Depending on your tasks and talents, you'll learn how to run a hostel, how to construct with natural materials, how to build eco-toilets and showers, run community projects, teach English, learn to cook local dishes.
We are looking for flexible volunteers who can help us in different areas. Help with cleaning the rooms and the common areas is always part of the help, other tasks depend on your skills. These are the areas where you could help: reception, shopping, laundry, advertising, social media, website, selling tours and shuttles, eco-construction (compost toilet, sauna, communal kitchen), community projects (teaching English/French, recycling project, fundraising for rainwater collection in a local school).
Accommodation is in a shared dormitory with 12 bunk beds. Breakfast and lunch or dinner are included on working days. Additional meals can be obtained with extra working hours. You can use our kitchen to cook any additional meals.
In your free time, you can explore San Marcos and the many beautiful villages around Lake Atitlan. Each village has it's own vibe and we encourage you to get to know other villages and get to know as well the local Guatemalan culture and not just tourist life.
