Discover a place to reconnect yourself to nature...
🌴Iaorana ! We are a Polynesian family - Vicky 63, and Eva 26 - looking for nature lovers to help us with welcoming our guests, house building projects and gardening.
🌴Our shack is located deep in the « Tepuhapa Valley », 14km from the airport of Raiatea Island ( French Polynesia ), also known under the name of « the Sacred Island ». Our project is to get people to know how to live more healthily and sustainably : we made a unique place dedicated to wellness.
Vicky has a strong passion for cooking and gardening, so she grows her own fruits and vegetables in order to use them for her vegan recipes. It’s been more than 15 years since she started to eat vegan and she loves to share with people all her food and nutrition tips.
🌴One of our main missions is to help people to eat well with local foods. Another one is to make them more conscious about the positive effects of nature on their mental well-being. We help them to make a break from their routine so that they can center themselves and recharge before they go back home. The project has started in October 2019, so we still have a lot to do to improve the experience at our shack !
🌴If you stay at our shack, you will experience an off-grid and self sufficient living in the lush of a Polynesian jungle ! So we have only solar power for electrics and we use the fresh water from the river. Vicky will be happy to make food for everybody but you can still make your own food if you like to cook.
Not to mention that the 1km road to the house is very bad and only suitable for 4x4 vehicles, so you could either go by walk to the closest store or by bicycle if you prefer (we have 3 bicycles ).
We hope we have told you enough about us, but of course you are welcome to ask us anything regarding our shack, location or French Polynesia.
Mauruuru !

We are hoping to host around 1-2 volunteers at a time to live along side us to help with the general day-to-day tasks around the house and the garden, but also with DIY and house maintenance projects too. Helping us out with welcoming our guests (when they stay for a night or just for lunch) will also be a great thing.
Once per month, we host a yoga retreat at the shack so group cooking and cleaning are the main priorities during this time.
French: Fluent
Our volunteers will share a room with 2 I single beds and 1 bathroom. Towels and bedsheets can be provided. There is a living room where you can relax and read a book from the bookcase. Behind the house there is a laundry room to wash your clothes and dry them. An outdoor shower in the garden if you like it and one kitchen well furnished if you want to cook. There is also a « fare pote » in the garden to do yoga or meditation.
As we live in a valley, you can walk up along the river and explore the wilderness of the site. The closest grocery store is about 20min walk or 10min bicycling. The white
Sand beach « Temaruao » is 10 min walk from the shack. If you want to go to the main town of the island (Uturoa), there are daily buses or get in the car with Vicky if possible. In town there are more activities and services (hospital, restaurants, stores, etc...).
